Question about Polaroid FLM-2601 Television
The orange/red light is on, but the TV will not power on. The TV is only 1-1/2 years old. When the problem started, I had to press the power/on button several times to get it to turn on. Now that does not work. I read one comment that stated to fix the problem you need to replace the 1000uf 35v Capacitor with a High Temperature capacitor. I do not know if this will resolve the problem. I also read that another part is required. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I have a 2-year-old FLM2601 that all of a sudden refused to power up, total black out. I searched the web and found the power unit seems to have a lot problems one form or the other. To keep it simple I decided to replace the whole power supply assy. I got the replacement part from "Best Buy Partserach". Part number: 6LM00220C0 (or Advent 667-L27M6-20C), about $90. I swapped the power board assembly, and everything work fine now, only hope this time it last more than 2 years…
It took a while to dismount the back panel, you need to get all the screws off, including those holding the bracket for I/O ports, the RF will remain connected by wire, but you can wiggle it through the opening when back panel comes off. I Also took the TV off the stand.

Hi there, greeting from Colombia, excuse me my bad english
In fact if you can see two electrolitcs bads, this is not all the cause. The power suply is ofering more voltaje that indicated. Due to one electrolict bad in the hot ground. The frecuency of work is too low and the voltaje in the cold ground is very high.
I prefer to change all the electrolicts in the power suply.

Bad caps is often the problem but they can be difficult to replace since they are soldered on both sides and you have to get the polarity correct. One mistake and you fry the board.
But if you try the Caps to us are 1000@63v. you up the voltage and they will not fail again. and there is usualy at least three of them. look for the ones that are puffed up at the top.
