I am hooking up an HD box with hdmi on an Emerson LC320EM1F, the sound lags or has a buffer. What is my issue? I just purchased 2 of these TV's and they do the exact same thing. My other TV's that were LCD's that were hooked up like this do not have audio lag.

It could be the version of hdmi cable you are using. It could also be what version hdmi the television is vs. what version hdmi cable you are using vs. what version hdmi the hd box is. See if you still get this problem when you use component.

Thanks for the response so quick. When the standard audio video cables are hooked up there is no problem. I have a sanyo LCD that is hooked up to the same box (Comcast HD) with the same HDMI cable provided by comcast and there is no issues with that. How do I find out what version HDMI cable it is? I am assuming that if it is the cable... it is only an issue with the Emerson LC320EM1F

How do I change my TV screen resolution?
  1. Press MENU on your set-top box remote control.

  3. Select SYSTEM OPTIONS, and then scroll to SELECT SCREEN ASPECT RATIO AND HIGH DEFINITION press the OK button.

Have a HD cable set-top box and a blu-ray player both of which would be better with HDMI input and of course an HDMI out to the TV. But the NAD T742 doesnt have any HDMI in/out. Any idea how I can fix...

If this is your system;
http://www1.epinions.com/specs/pr-NAD_T742_5_1_Channel_Home_Audio_Receiver
It has two "digital optical" inputs for sound. The video doesn't need to pass through the receiver so, your HD components, box and Bluray player, should hook to TV directly then, providing your TV has digital optical out, you could run your audio out of the TV from a digital optical out, to receiver. This would allow you to select your video through your TV's menu and the sound would come through the receiver through the one input. You can pass your video through the receiver but, it doesn't have the best outputs to handle it. You also may notice lags beteween the audio and video if you go this route.

I just bought a used ps3 i hook it up to my emerson hd tv and it shows format not supported , i then hooked it up to my poleroid hd tv and it works fine this all thru the hdmi cable

What are the specs on your emerson, does it support 1080p? Make sure you have the right settings on your ps3. If your emerson supports 720p and 1080i then it will not give you a 1080p picture and you might run into issues.

I just purchased a Sherwood RD 6513 reciever, I'm trying to connect a hd cable box (motorola dch 3200), dvd player (sony dvp ns710h) and a rca hd tv (l32hd41). I connected hdmi cords from both components...

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist you. I f you are going to hook up your cable box - motorola to the sherwood receiver, connect an hdmi cable to the back of the motorola cable box, there is only 1 hdmi output there, then connect the other end to the sherwood receiver on the hdmi input, then connect another hdmi cable to the hdmi output and the other end goes to your rca hd tv.

for the sony dvp, you have only one hdmi out, connect an hdmi cable to the back of the sony dvp if u have another spare. connect it to the hdmi input of the sherwood receiver. there is only 1 hdmi output at the sherwood, so u need to use a component cable to be connected at the back of the sherwood receiver component output then the other end goes to the component input of the hd tv.

if you dont have anymore hdmi cable to hook up your sony dvp, u can use component cable, the connection will goes like this, connect a component cable on the output of the sony dvp and the other end goes to the sherwood component input then connect another component cable to the component output of the sherwood and the other end goes to the rca hd tv on the component input.

I hope this will solve your concern, if you have any question, u can get in touch..

Hdmi and audio

It may be the top of set box.. Most times the sound and picture are auto detected by the set when HDMI is used. Both sound and video are carried in a HDMI cable but not with a S video cable. Try another HDMI cable *** dont buy the expensive one the tv don't care if they cost $125 or $25.

Setting up Cable with HDMI

Yes, the firmware on your hdtv box has an old firmware, I switched my old hdtv box with a newer one box and the problem was solved. It seems that it can't work if your hooking up with DVI to HDMI cable to your receiver to tv. Your hd box must have an HDMI out otherwise it causes problems. I also have rx-v661 and i finally hooked up everything HDMI to the receiver and then to the tv and it was having the problem you speak of. After I switched out the hd box for a newer one everthing worked fine.
