If this is a reader that plugs into a usb port there are a few things that are problematic with them. They use a suspension that is very sensitive to heat if you leave your reader in the usb port the power from the port causes it to heat up and fail. The other issue is the speed of the port, Most software uses a redundancy software that verifies the image by what they call checksum points. If the speed of the port is to slow this will cause a misread. When not in use don't leave it in the port remove it and keep it cool. Good luck.. Be mucho Blessed..Mark

How to use fingerprint, scaaner and fargo print with terminal of pc,if not support add detial.thank

Simply install the driver for the scanner and printer on the HOST system. Plug in your peripherals and when the user on the L300 logs in they should see the printer. The problem with the fingerprint scanner is depending on the make/model, it may not work with the NComputing device. The only way it will have a chance of working is to make sure the device has a live session, sitting at a logon prompt for the desktop. The L300 by itself won't know what to do with the fingerprint scanner. It needs a session to the host to marry up the driver with the peripheral. Also make sure you have the latest vSpace software as NComputing has implemented a new USB architecture for larger USB peripheral support.

Hello every body! I have a problem with Password of Dell Latitude E6400, last time i set Fingerprint as a security, now i want to disable this, but I Can't do it because it report that the old password is...

Ouch, Sorry about the issue with the password. The problem is, your fingerprint reader is working fine, but windows is not letting you in because you cannot authenticate yourself. Unfortunately, I do not know of any free way to retrieve your passwords from windows. You might be able to get support from Dell customer care, because this isnt really a hardware issue, but a software issue.

Use your System Restore DVD's to activate the Fingerprint Reader; once activated, you will have to register your fingerprint(s) and then you can sign in and/or lock your laptop with your fingerprint.

Fingerprint reader not working in vista

If you can find out what kind of bios you have it would help us greatly. When you first start up your computer i need to know the first name you see. It probably appears on the first splash screen along with the computer companies logo. But you are going to have to go into bios and turn the fingerprint scanner on.

Or And i should have mentioned this first... You have to go into the control panel and double click on the system icon. Once in the system properties select the device manager. If it is turned on in bios it may be disabled in this list you should be seeing.
I run windows xp so i'm not sure of how to get to the device manager but it will be real close to the above directions. You are going to have to enable the device and reinstall the drivers

Fingerprint reader

Hi slipknot123,

it simply means that the software for your finger scanner requires the omnipass password modules before windows allows it to work with its identification and authentication modules.

if your computer came with a built-in finger print scanner, all the drivers and the necessary software for it should have been installed already, you may also check the recovery disk that was given you when got when you bought your computer, tcheck out their site at www.softexinc.com

Hope you have a nice day

Fingerprint reader stopped working

You may need to download new drivers for it. Also position and if there is anything on it that might cause a film over ie moist fingers, grease, oil ect. will cause an issue. Fingerprint readers are notoriusly fickle.

Fingerprint reader software on lenovo 3000 n100

Hi jerseydeals,

I did a search and found an XP driver from the Lenovo site for your laptop's finger print reader, just follow the link below:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-63663.html

Also, the reader is controlled by the OmniPass software, you can check it out from http://www.softexinc.com who developed it and find the version for XP though theere are other software to which you could use that reader as well. Hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,
