what kind of tv is having the problem and where is the sound source coming from? Does this happen on all inputs such as cable, dvd player, etc?

It's not muted or on SAP correct? Try resetting it by unplugging it, depending on the type of the tv, this may take up to 8 hours to fully discharge and reset it. Please answer my questions so I can further provide information to help you fix this

- basically your audio circuitry has failed then, and I wouldn't recommend replacing it unless you really want to or depending on the size of the tv for sure.

Getting a new tv is better worth the money

IC901 (TDA4935) blown due to excessive supply voltage, capacitors C619, C623, C810, C600, C601, C859 defective. Also verify R822.
if u hve a proper technical experience .dry solder ur board n check the above ics and capacitors.replace the ic if faulty or replace if any capacitors r bulged.otherwise get some repairman to repair ur board.it will cost negligible.nothing to worry.

feel free 4 further assistance .rate the particular experts solution as fixya that helps u understand n solve ur problem

- What it sounds like is wiring inside to the speakers got disconnected. Does the TV have a jack for headphones or external speakers? If so, then I would connect something to see if you get sound.

If you do, then its defintiely just the speakers within the TV. This would probably not be an expensive repair, but you should be able to get estimates from a repair shop. If ther is an external jack that works, you could just attach a set of speakers to it.
