I have the same issue with the flashing (us) light.the only thing i can tell you is that from what i have read is the modem is transmitting info for some reason. What i do is disconnect its power source and it stops but after a week or so its flashing again.

i have same rca modem installed last week as part of my comcast triple play. working fine until i tried to bring my airport extreme into the equation. now i see the link light is flashing on the modem. any chance that could be affecting my airport connection. odd because it works when ethernet cord goes directly from modem to laptop, just not when it routes through airport. could flashing link light be part of problem?

    Same problem exactly.
Reset aqnd works fine for maybe up to 24 hrs. then flashing again.
This seems to coincide with slow page loads.
    Which is ridiculous with 10Mb/s.

If you haven't already done so, contact your cable provider and let them know what is going on. There may be a signal issue and your modem is losing its lock on the carrier.

Comcast is my service provider and I have had an RCA DCM 245R modem for almost 10 years. Until recently it has worked fine. On an ever increasing basis I am losing internet connection and when I look at...

It can be an issue with the modem or with the line. When the line drops the link then the modem shows only two lights. And, when you power cycle the modem (unplug and replug it) it establish the session again with the comcast.

So, i'll suggest you to get the line checked first and if comcast finds that line is working fine then get the modem replaced.

All lights are flashing in unison. comcast says I need a new modem. Is this true?

From my limited experience with this problem, the answer can be yes. If you cannot unplug the modem power plug and reattach it, and then make it "set up" and work, the problem is either a bad line feed or bad modem. The easiest thing to do is try another modem...that will verify if the line is good. If the line is bad, comcast has to fix it for free, to provide your service. It your modem is good, you won't have to replace it and buy another one(however, they may charge a service fee, I'm not sure if or how much- call them and check first). Hope this helps.

RCA Thomson digital cable modem internet light is flashing and no connectivity. Is it the modem or the internet service? Comcast was less than helpful...

looking at the internal modem page.usually: on your browser.explorer works best for this look up. you dont need internet access for this. once inside you can look at signal strength coming from the street and signal going back. if its out of spec.then that needs to be corrected. Note :call your provider and ask for down/up stream
specifications. also weather or not your modem is ( EOL) End of life.
Good Luck.

When connect the power I get all solid lights except for the Internet light. Reset does nothing. I got the Modem on Ebay from a past Comcast user. Any ideas? Is it a goner? Thanks... Darryl From Portland...

You have to notify comcast, to let them know you bought a new modem. Comcast uses a two way communications to all of there devices, and it is not setup on your new modem.

The internet light is flashing on the rca dcm425 i reset it and the router and still cannot connect but the cable is working and the light just flashes

My RCA DCM425C from Comcast had the same problem when I came home Saturday, 11/14/09 (coincidentally the same day you posted). Had been working fine - cable TV still works fine including On Demand, etc. The Internet light was blinking. Occasionally I'd see it try to work from one light to three or four, but it always came back to one. Called Comcast, they said their side showed "no signal". Sent out a tech today. He replaced the cable modem, reprovisioned it (I guess if I had a backup ready I could have done the provisioning over the phone maybe?)), everything's great. Lasted about a year and a half. When I logged in via, it said it was still in Step 1 of 5 ("Tuning"), and the logs showed a whole bunch of errors on Saturday that stopped after that. Diagnostics would always freeze the built-in web server and require reboot.

DHG535-2 and LAN switch issue

It sounds like the LInksys that they replaced was also a router. A router will route packets to multiple pc's that are connected to it. The cable modem just sees the router as 1 pc. When you use a switch, the cable modem will see all of your PC's. and Comcast just allows 1 pc. You will need to buy a router to use more than 1 PC which will be cheaper than using Comcasts Home Networking service which will network up to 4 pcs

Arris cable modem

try shutting of your computer then shutting off the modem, the modems have batteries you might have to remove them theres usally a panel on the bottom, in the back you should have a wire for comcast cable and an ethernet chord telephone too if you have everything. also your modem could be broken, i had the same problem
