Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Sansa e260 MP3 Player cannot be unlocked

When turning on the Sansa e260 it is now in the Key LOCKED mode and shuts down. Opening the back, taking out the batter, and putting it back in does not affect the problem. The Hold slide does not unlock the player anymore. Is there any other way to unlock the player?

Reset the player first, then retry the lock slider.

There's a slide switch on the top of the Sansa, near the headphone jack. Slide the switch away from the jack to unlock the unit.

When turning on the Sansa e260 it is now in the Key LOCKED mode

I had a similar problem with my e250. The problem was that one of the plastic arms on the lock switch had broken off. The one that locked it was still in place but the other wasn't, so I could always lock it but never unlock it.

Since you already know how to open the case, take a look at the switch at the top. Use a pen or something and slide it to the unlocked position (away from the headphone jack). Put it back together and see if it works. If it does, just remember never to lock it again.

On the top of the sansa, there is a piece that slides back and forth. slide it so that you don't see orange. If you see the orange, that means that it is locked and it can't do anything.

Sansa e260, key locked

jeff,

I'm not familiar with SANSA but try this.
try to locate any slide switch from your MP3 player indicating
"HOLD" or a picture of a "lock" or a "key" then switch it backwards.

and in some cases this switch can also be locate at the headset unit if the headset does have a control buttons on it

cheer,
mark
