If you want to know the easiest way. This all-in-one password recovery software will surely help you out. It is capable of resetting forgotten or lost Windows Administrator login password, and recovering lost password for multiple web browsers, mail clients, FTP clients, chat messengers etc. Regards.
Are you referring to your windows password? To bypass this, you can login on safe mode (F8 as soon as you see the Dell Logo) via administrator login. As soon as you were able to login under the administrator profile, follow this. Go to control panel --> User Accounts --> select the Account that you're having difficulty loggin in --> remove password ---> delete all characters under the field ---> click OK. Restart the computer normally.
If it happens that the administrator login also asks the same password, this would mean that your own profile is the administrator and the only way to eliminate this would be to do a Repair or OS reinstallation.
I got the following from the windows help and support:

Click Reset password, and then follow the instructions.

If you do this, however, you will lose access to any encrypted files, encrypted e‑mail messages, and passwords stored on this account. If you don't have encrypted files or stored passwords, then this option will work for you
If you don't have a password reset disk or another administrator account, you won't be able to reset the password. If there are no other user accounts on the computer, you won't be able to log on to Windows. In this case, you will need to re-install Windows.
