I'm sorry that the TV is not displaying red color. Please follow the troubleshooting steps and check the operation:
Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper.
Try connecting a different video source like DVD player or VCR and check the operation. If it works with another device, the issue might be with the input device currently.
Also try connecting the device to a different port in the TV if no other devices are available.
If the issue persists, try with a different cable.
Perform a power resetting and check the operation. To perform the power resetting, unplug the TV from wall outlet for more than 2 minutes and then reconnect it.
If the issue persists, please change the Lamp of the TV to resolve the issue. XL2400 is the replacement Lamp for the TV. Please refer page # 86 of the Instruction Manual of the TV to get the instructions to change the Lamp. I'm providing the link to download the Instruction Manual for your reference. Click here to download the Manual.
Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any clarifications.
Check all of your video connections and make sure everything is connected properly. Make sure your video sources i.e. cable box, etc. are configured to the proper output resolution. Since your T.V. is a rear projection CRT, I would recommend you do a convergence calibration. This is usually the problem with those kinds of televisions when the picture gets blurry- especially if it has recently been moved. The convergence procedure re-aligns the electron guns inside the T.V. Consult your manual or download one if you are unsure how to perform the convergence calibration.
The manual is telling you that your "source", whatever you are connecting to a particular HDMI port, needs to be turned-on in order for the TV to detect it. Make sure that the HDMI cable plugged into the correct HDMI port for each device (TV & cable box) and that the cable box is on. Does the cable box HDMI port need to be selected in order for it to be functional or is it on all of the time? Check your cable box instruction manual for details on the proper way to enable (turn-on) or disable the various outputs if needed.
