Question about MP3 & Digital Media Players

1 Answer

I was trying to upload some new music for my friend on her NEXTAR MP3 player. It was full, so I deleted her old music, and put the new music on. All seemed fine until I tried to listen. Now when I turn it on, it seems frozen with the logo in a blue screen, and the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery. Please help!

Thanks I think that might help. FYI: I purchased all my music from iTunes and off CD's that I own... so the music shouldn't be the problem. However, I did notice that my iTunes music had little locks on it, I thought that it was just so she couldn't share it again. I know I have limited transfer use of each purchased songs, but I know I haven't reached my limit yet,

The onther problem was when I plugged it back into the computer it didn't show up. Before it was drive E:, but now it doesn't display any other drives, like it's not plugged in. What do you think about that?

So, do you think that those little locks next to the songs could have been what locked the MP3 player up?

I will try what you suggested.

    Thanks for responding so quickly!

Make sure the songs are in the right format (and that they didn't come from Limewire or Morpheus). Reformat the player to wipe all of the songs off there at once.

As far as the locks on the songs - convert them to mp3 format, and you will never have to deal with them again.

If your computer is not recognizing the player (a common problem with mp3 players), I would got to Nextar's website first to see if they have an FAQ on that problem - it is usually the #1 question.

I would start simple - try another usb port on the same computer.

    Useful method to force recognition:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

the part you plug the wires into may be dirty and the computer may be unable to read the files. you should clean your mp3 player slots by blowing into it.
