Sharp SF-2014 developer

Hello:
I have an old Sharp SF 2014 copier machine. When I raise the top unit the dust of the developer spill all over the components on the lower unit. I take out the developer unit which is together with the toner unit to clean and to check the problem. I do not find anything abnormal; have changed two foams and want to be sure of the problem before assembling with the new developer.
Can you help me in this case?
Thank you
Gus

Hello Gus,
IF the Toner/developer is spilling out towards the rear of the machine then the developer unit is going bad. A common problem with this model was the rear bushings in the developer unit would wear out and start to leak. If you take the developer unit out of the machine, put down some newspaper, and tip the developer unit (OVER THE PAPER) about 15-20 degrees towards the back and see if the Developer/toner leaks out any. If it does then you found the problem.
If it doesn't then you might just have an over toning problem. To check to see if you have an over toning problem, please the developer unit ON THE PAPER, get a philips screw driver, and put it in the rear White gear. You will see a series of gears but there is only 1 that is the located on the END of the Roller with the toner/developer on it. TURN IT CLOCKWISE about 1 turn and see if you see toner spilling out.
If you do, then your machine needs a Developer change.

Hope this helps.
Let me know if you have more questions.
If you need parts for this machine, I have a couple contacts that I can give you and you can see if they have the parts in stock.
Good Luck.
Mac

The error code appearing on our bizhub250 is c2557

. Might want to have the developer replaced and drum/cleaning blade normally done all together, then run the F8 procedure and make sure the counters where cleared. Did you recently replace the drum and the developer if so did you clear the counters for the drum and developer, FIRST. IF not then the copier thinks the new drum and new developer are old. The copier works on the counters that is how it knows it got a new drum and developer. Get new developer and a new drum and have it installed correctly. Counters are clear before the unit is yanked out of the machine, then you remove the image unit/drum unit replace the developer/drum and cleaning blade. (DO NOT USE A VACUUM CLEANER WHEN REPLACING THE DEVELOPER static electricity can destroy the sensor located below the developer unit. Then reinstall and RUN F8. Make sure the fax line and Ethernet cable is removed can't print anything until the F8 is run. Or you will start all over again with new developer and a new drum.

I am having L code errors on our Konica Minolta Biz Hub 363

Sir/Mam,
#10 Transfer roller needs replacing sponge looking roller right side of the of the machine when you open to remove paper jams.

# 9 Developing unit needs replacement that the part that holds the drum and developer/toner. IF YOU YANK THIS UNIT OUT WITHOUT REMOVING THE LITTLE COVER ONE BOLT and DICONNECT THE CONNECTOR. BIG TROUBLE, going to cost a lot to repair.

#8 PAPER DUST REMOVER the device that collect paper dust yes paper does produce DUST. Just before the sponge roller

#6 IS Warning that the developer has not been replace inside the drum cartridge. SEE #9

#4 Drum need to be replaced.

Really have to watch for all of that sir/mam.

I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE FROM A COMPANY THAT REMANUFACTURES THEM THRU XEROX,ANYWAY THE INK TONER CARTRIDGE IS FOR YOUR Z-85II COPIER AND THE INK WAS EVERYWHERE WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OF THE PACKAGE AND...

You are right about the cartridges having a seal. These toner remanufacturing companies are known as TONER PIRATES, they don't change the drum or cleaning blade, they just dump in toner.

Try wiping the inside with STRETCH AND DUST cloths before you put the new cartridge in.

If that doesn't work, I have to recommend that you get it cleaned, as the spilled toner will blow straight through a regular vacuum.

WE HAVE A KYOCERA FS-1900 WHEN IT PRINTS IT LOOKS LIKE A TYRE PRINT OR MARBLING ON THE PAPER

You may have a problem here. The early Kyocera printer had a problem with the developer unit. You can try and clean the developer unit but be careful. First you will need a can of air. The kind you use to dust off your keyboard and such. Then you should have a oil-less dust towel like a Stretch and Dust. First LIGHTLY dust the excess toner off the developer unit. I MEAN LIGHTLY. If you spray the air full blast in to the developer unit you will not only make a huge mess but you may also roll back a mylar in the unit making it worthless. Just lightly pull back the trigger on the canned air until you get a slight amount of air flow. Just enough to blow away the top layer of toner. Then using the stretch and dust wipe off the rest of the toner it should be in the same shape as the tracks on your document. Do Not Touch the metal roller with your hands, the oils on your fingers are enough to make the problem worse. Be careful if you roll the developing unit, make sure you are not pulling the toner out of the unit. If you are you are rolling it the wrong way. Some will only go one way. If after you clean the entire roller and the problem comes back, try cleaning it again. If it still persists then you may need a new developer unit and possibly a drum unit. Get in touch with your nearest Kyocera dealer for part pricing.

Samsung sf-5100 Fax machine - no paper

Check inside the paper tray area to see if the paper sensor flag is dislodged. Otherwise it will be a board problem. Vacuum clean out any toner spill. Try a can of compressed air to blow any paper dust from any sensor. They will be the little black U shaped devices. Make sure the flafs move freely in and out of the sensors.
