When I started my tomtom the first time, it started just fine. I conneced to my computer and installed tomtom HOME and it said I needed some upgrades, so I installed them. Now, on power up, tomtom says...

Same problem here. We used a Mac instead of Windows, if that matters??? Have you tried calling Tomtom support? We can't get through and are VERY frustrated! In the last three days, we've called about 10 times and have been on hold forever... like up to an hour! They also have not responded to emails we've sent!
Any help from others out there on this would be appreciated.

Unable to update Tom Tom in windows vista keep getting error 1060 any solutions?

perform the following:
type the following three lines in to the Command window:

%SystemDrive%
cd "%ProgramFiles%\TomTom HOME 2"
xulrunner\HOMERuntime.exe -app xul\application.ini

To avoid having to type these lines every time you start HOME:

Right-click your desktop and choose New > Text Document - enter the commands provided above and then save the file as RunTTH.bat
copy this file to the TomTom HOME 2 folder in C:\Program Files (you will require Administrator rights to do this)
in the Start menu, right click on the TomTom HOME 2 icon.
select Properties
in Target, change "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\TomTomHOME.exe" to "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\RunTTH.bat”

The icon will change and HOME 2 should now run normally on your PC.
Please note that links like "Send to TomTom device" or "Add to TomTom" won't work because they rely on TomTomHOME.exe (which this workaround by-passes).
A full fix for this error will be implemented in a future HOME update.

NOTE: for 64 bit Vista change the second line of code to:

cd "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\TomTom HOME 2"

Requesting contact number for help by phone

TomTom One has a number of built-in sounds that it uses for alerts
e.g.
beeps, bells, cows and boings.
There are two times when you might hear these:
1. when it nears a POI
2. Going too fast

and you can change these two setting(depends on the model you used).

you can download manual at
tomtom website ----> support scroll down at the right hand side click Find downloads

hope this help

For the first time ever when using my TomTom on a journey, my TomTom receiver made a three bong noise(sounded like a clock chiming) it did it three times in a short distance, and on the return journes it...

It's a settable option in preferences or sometimes you can set it when you first select a map. Its a reminder when moving from one country ( where you drive on the right ) to another country ( where you drive on the left ) to keep on the correct side of the road . It will bong if the road deviates a little from the map or more typical is if you deviate from the route . Such as if you left the route to go into a petrol station , it will bong as you rejoin the road to remind you to drive on the correct side of the road.
Hope this helps , please rate my answer if it meets your requirements.
