I have a ICE2O maytag refrigerator that is 2 years old my electricial board was bad and I had it replaced. The part number is 1290710. Now my ice maker does not work. I have water but no ice. I have lowered the temperature but still no ice. What else could be wrong with this refrigerator. I had a Whirpool that lasted 20 years with no problems, I am not sure if buying a Maytag was a good idea. This refrigeraor is a french door, with freezer at bottom.

F there There's no ice Please read this entirely to assist you in troubleshooting this problem. If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order: It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try
If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.
If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.
In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly. If too cold then the ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

The ICE2O has gone crazy

Billy, your HV control board has failed. (I know this because I serviced one just last week for the same symptoms and promptly diagnosed and repaired it.) The board can be accessed from the back of the fridge. Roll it out from the wall and look about 2 feet up from the floor on the left hand side. You'll see the cover held in place by 4 1/4" screws. Remove 3 and loosen the last one, rotate the panel out of your way. The board is a snap to remove and replace. The part number you will need is #12920710 and is available at your local appliance parts retailer. It lists for ~$150.00. The kit DOES come with instructions to program it once the repair is complete. Read these completely BEFORE doing the repair so you'll know what to do when you've got it back online.

I have a model MFI2568AES and had to purchas power control board. The frig is running but ice maker doesn't work. I had to program the new power control board. The code in my fris is 4011 but it...

you have the wrong board, when ordering the new board you need the model and serial numbers.you need to put in your model number and then add the first two digits off of serial number to get the correct board so it will take your code, say the first two digits are 12 then you need to see what board is for MFI2568AES12 YOU PROBABLY HAVE BOARD PART WP12920710 BUT FOR YOUR MODEL AND SERIAL YOU NEED PART WPW10310240 and then you'll be able to enter your code

The control lights on the refrigerator keep blinking. No function for water or ice.

Hi,

Unplug the refrigerator for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it ON. This would reset the control board. If the problem still persists, this is an internal failure, most probably control board. If you have electronics repair experience, could read schematics, would be able to use multimeter and could keep precautions, revert and i would be able to tell you few pointers. However, repairman is recommended as it could be quite dangerous to work on these refrigerators.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Why is the ice maker and water dispensing panel on my refrigerator flashing? The Ice door at the dispenser is also opening and closing every three seconds. Water and ice are also not dispensing

I called a repair man to fix this problem - "FixYa" was absolutely useless in this case. Turns out there was a short on the control board and it needed to be replaced.

Rust on the door edge of my SS maytag Ice2O refrigerator?

Your problem is no doubt a bad door gasket which is not sealing. Water vapor from room air is seeping through and condensing on the door edges. A new gasket should be available from your local refigeration supplier, but they are very difficult to replace. Read all instructions carefully before starting, and store your perishables.

Maytag Ice2O

I had the same problem 4/28/08 - Called Maytag they're sending the part and repairman free.

IN THE MEAN TIME.......Maytag suggested to me to: take a phillips head screw driver and remove the hinge cover from the top of the left door. You'll find a white connector with four wires coming from each side. Disconnect the connector in the middle and the flap will stop (and so will the lights).
