Stripped and stuck Bolts on Motorcycle front end

I have a 1993 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 xlh with four stripped and stuck bolts which hold the front forks on. How can I get them off without ruining something?

The ez out is a good suggestion. but depending on bolt size and location, if might be hard to drill the pilot hole for the ez out. i have been using this proceedure for a long time and yet to have a failure. i take a nut with a hole big enough to just about to cover stuck bolt and use a mig to weld the nut to the stuck fastener through the hole and then quickly wrench the fastener out. the welding heat helps the removal process. shield the surrounding area with wet rags and to protect the point of weld, use heat sink putty available from welding supply to form a dam around the area. you can also use the putty to hold nut in place. if you get in a bind, play dough will work on a short order basis. if the fastener is sunk to deep you prpbably will need the ez out. other than that, remove fork from frame and bring to machine shop.

Starter removal

It's quite a process to remove a starter on a sportster. I changed one for my friend on his 03 sportster. You have to take alot of stuff off to get to the bolts that hold it on. Can I suggest getting a service manual for the bike. Trust me it's worth its weight in gold. I've done alot of work on my sportster and my friends sportster and would never attempt anything without the book. As far as the starter, From what I remember, I had to remove the exhaust pipes then the primary cover, and I'm sure there were more parts, but you need to know what gaskets you will need to replace. Good Luck. And go get the book. I got mine at Barnes and Noble. and my friend got his at the Harley dealer. Have fun.

Drain the primary and remove the primary chaincase cover. There are 2 bolts with lockplates and washers thats hold the shoe. Remove them, install the new shoe, reinstall the 2 bolts. The lockplate is installed outside of the washers. Thats it

If you're talking about dieing at an idle, you can increase the idle slightly to keep this from happening. Do not increase it too much, Harley's are not designed for high idle.

Brake lights

check the brake light switch at the front level (right hand switch housing) or rear brake cylinder. One or both may be stuck. You may need to clean or replace.
