Hello

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

HP Photosmart M425, "Card Lock" message, camera

Take the memory card out of your camera. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Would not format memory csrd gigaware 4gb

The M425 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I want to transfer pictures from my computer onto my memory card in my PhotoSmart M425 camera to then put on my digital photo frame. How can I do this?

Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer. The card will then appear to your computer as another hard drive. You can transfer pictures to the card the same way you normally transfer any other type of file.

You might need the SD card, not the one that has HC also.

    Help with camera?

Do you have a pc with an SD card reader on it? If you do, you can insert the card into that slot and it will act as a removeable drive. You can find it in My Computer under removeable drives.
When you connect the camera to the pc, it will become a removeable drive. Just transfer from one drive to the other.

    Card has wrong format

Not a solution, but after corresponding with HP customer service, they concluded that the problem with my M527 (see above) cannot be fixed. They offered to replace it with the same two-year old model for $99.99 which is much more than that model camera would be worth. I declined their offer.

    Memory card

plug in and turn on your camera to link it. when the option to open the folder comes up, select open folder to view files. when you have that open, simply drag the photos you want to that folder and drop them. they will then be on the memory card.

    Wrong format on HP M425

Just fixed this problem on a M525 camera (same physical construction).

Do a search with M525 and format.
