I took out the memory card in my HP Photosmart M425 Digital Camera and it was working perfect, I put the chip from my phone in another memory card and put that in my camera to transfer the pictures from that chip on to my Computer and when I put the original memory card back in my camera it tells me Card HAS WRONG FORMAT , then it tells me to press ok to reformat and it says Unable to format, can you please tell me what the problem is?

Take the memory card out of your camera. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer. The card will then appear to your computer as another hard drive. You can transfer pictures to the card the same way you normally transfer any other type of file.
Do you have a pc with an SD card reader on it? If you do, you can insert the card into that slot and it will act as a removeable drive. You can find it in My Computer under removeable drives.
When you connect the camera to the pc, it will become a removeable drive. Just transfer from one drive to the other.
Let me know if I can be of anymore help, and thanks for coming to FixYa. If you would, rate my solution a fixya.
Not a solution, but after corresponding with HP customer service, they concluded that the problem with my M527 (see above) cannot be fixed. They offered to replace it with the same two-year old model for $99.99 which is much more than that model camera would be worth. I declined their offer.
plug in and turn on your camera to link it. when the option to open the folder comes up, select open folder to view files. when you have that open, simply drag the photos you want to that folder and drop them. they will then be on the memory card.
