Ensure you have the correct angle when using the torch = 22-24 degrees from vert: this will provide good gas coverage. setting should be 15 - 20 ltrs using a "flow meter".clean the material thoroghly then weld , dont clean then leave for a long time.
Argon gas sometimes can be contaminated and cause heavy soot on the weld bead,
TIG electrode should be Zirconiated with a rounded end not pointed.
Use forehand ,method
If you have both a foot pedal and a thumb control and neither is working, the problem could be in the 14 pin remote connector on the welder. The pins inside the connector can get worn out and/or broken with regular changing of the remote.
You could also have a bad PC2 board, the front panel control comes after the interface to the remote control.
clean your metal with a good peace of the green scotch guard scrub pad prior to the weld.Also try turning up your gas and move a little faster when using filler wire,rember to much heat causes a darker dirter weld.hope this helps
