  4. Press Resume/Cancel 2 times and then release all the buttons.
  5. When the indicator recorded GREEN - click Resume/Cancel 4 times!
  6. Turn off and On the Canon Pixma MP Printers. And your done.
Warning: Getting rid of the error message won't change that you might end up with ink leaking out of the printer if you don't either replace or clean the ink wastepad.

How do i rest my cannon pixma mp 220

I would imagine the error message is asking you to hold down the reset button of your printer for 5 seconds due to a low ink estimate with these refilled cartridges. If this is the case the STOP/RESET/RESUME button is represented by an upside-down triangle in a circle and is normally red or grey.

If you encounter "Error Code 5B00" it means that the Printer Counter Protection is Full and it required a reset and Ink absorber replacement, if you want your printer to work again. There are two ways to reset the Canon MP printer, One is by using a Software tool and the other is manually resetting the EEPROM of the printer. Below is the step by step procedure on how to reset your Canon printer.

1. Using MPtool Software to reset Canon MP Printer
Turn of printer then run mptool software this software automatically detect the printer.

  1. Start with printer off
  2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. green led should be on

Hi this works with some MP printer gave it a go.

First you must Turn off the printer
  1. Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click "Power") an indicator light green.

  2. Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.

  3. Not releasing the Power Button, double click "Resume" and release Both Buttons.

  4. Click "Resume" for Four times

  5. Once you click "Power", to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.

Canon pixma mp-610

Try resetting the printer:

1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button three times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.) During initialization, the LED blinks in green.

4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)

5) Press the Power button. The LED lights in green, and the
selected function is performed. (When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically.)

6) Power off then back on and test.
