Running capacitors contain oil in it so it must have been leaked, so thats the reason we need to replace it, It will work fine after replacement.

Do you hear compresser start up noise. If so then please check it with a clamp meter and Amperage the Unit is drwing. If it is less than 8-9 Amps than there is some leakage in the AC and all the collent has leaked. So you got to get it serviced.

I have a 18000btu LG mini split heat pump installed about 1 year ago in vacation home. In heat mode the unit cycles on and off when room temp is within 2-3 degrees of set point. Cycle on time varies...

Hello.I think they are on to something with shortcycling on temp sensor.I think it should be sampling the return air instead of (inside coils ?).A 2*f dead band use to be built in (factory installed) to thermostats to prevent on/off, but not sure in this case.Try a new sensor location(return air) and see if anything changes.

Straight Facts Needed about recharging R-12 FREON in Duo Therm!!!

To be honest, it sounds like everyone wants to just sell you a new unit. Not alot of people carry R-12 anymore since the cost it to much for most garages to carry stock. What I suspect is that someone accessed you sealed system a while ago, hense the new valves, and you had one of the shraders leak losing your charge. Make sure you do not turn the system on if you have no charge. When you compress air, it will mix with the oil in your compressor and create acid which will eat the isulation around the windings on your compressor.

I know it sounds funny, but call Pepboys or Walmart or any large chain service garage and see if they will service your unit. Larger service bays will stock R-12 and will service existing equipment. There is no reason you need to replace your unit if everything is in good condition. Heck, if your in ever in Southern California, look me up. I have about 60# of R-12 and would charge your unit if you pay for the refrigerant.

Gurrgeling noise after compressor kicks in

The sound that you are hearing is the refrigerant moving through the system. That can be a very normal sound. If you are not experiencing any other issues I think it is ok.

I can't believe that just sitting in a box can harm it. If it was stored in an upright condition, you should be fine. The system has oils in the compressor. So if it was stored upside down or something then the compressor could have run dry. This is usually ok if the unit returns to an upright position for a day or so before it is run.

Room AC, reverse cycle..heat does not work.

if it is a Heat pump style the rev valve is in the Freon lines you will have to pull the unit out into the room out of it's sleeve which will stay in the wall ....it rev the flow of refrigerant is it cooling ok?? there is a solenoid on that valve that may be bad i would check that first you will have to look to see if it is energized in the heat or cool mode first to make sure it is switching it should look like a sideways tube with 3 outlets on one side and 1 inlet on the top and the solenoid coil as well with 2 wires going to it let me know what you find out ...1 Note the unit may have electric heat and the element maybe out you will have to pull to check

Danby DPAC10061 portable air conditioner problem

you may have a factory defective unit that is not turning off the anti-frost heating coil (I have assumed yours contains this item based on your problem description). I would trade it in for a new unit, again assuming you have a warranty or the store offers a good in-store return policy. If this plan bombs, then open the unit and find the heating coil near the cool side of the radiator fins. then disconnect the power wires to the heater and prevent electrical short to wires with quality electrical tape.
