I think your Ipod charger/usb slot is damaged.
Take it to a repair shop is the only solution

How do I charge my ipod? Just got it from my

Connect it to your computer via the USB cord. You can also get adapters which will allow you to charge it using a wall socket (AC power). The adapter plugs into the wall, and then you plug the Nano's USB cord into the adapter.

Upgraded to itunes 9 and itunes does recognise ipod.

I would recommend that you try putting your ipod in 'disk mode' (directions below) and then reconnecting it to your computer. If the ipod is recognized in iTunes go ahead and click on it to bring up the ipod menu. You should see a picture of the ipod and a button that says update. Here is a link to what it should look like. http://bit.ly/5vl6UU Once it is updated you can take it out of disc mode and reconnect it to the computer Let me know if that worked for you. Good Luck -WN

disk mode
  • Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  • Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  • When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

    My Computer and iTunes does not recognize my iPod

    Have you tried resetting it? Press the center (Select) button and the Menu button at the same time and hold for at least 10 seconds or until you see it reset.

    hope this may help;

    If it doesn't respond when you plug it to a charger its most likely motherboard problem.

    Ipod nano 4gb

    If you install the itunes version 7.5 that you downloaded, you wont lose your music library. It is a separate file from the programs installation files. You don't need to uninstall the previous version, the new one will install on top of it.
