How do i reactivate the wireless controller to my xbox 360

How to Configure an Xbox Controller Fotolia.com"> configure-xbox-controller-800x800.jpg Configure you Xbox controller.

The Xbox 360 utilizes two types of controllers: wired and wireless. Like most operations on a video game console, configuring a controller requires little effort. You can either plug the controller into a port on the Xbox 360, or sync a wireless controller using the console's built-in controls.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions

  1. Wired
    • 1 Connect the controller's cable to the in-line release cord. This cord prevents you from accidentally pulling the Xbox 360 along with your controller during game play.
    • 2 Insert the in-line release cord's USB plug into the USB port on the front of the console.
    • 3 Turn on the console to activate the controller automatically.
    Wireless
    • 1 Insert batteries in your wireless controller, if necessary.
    • 2 Hold down the "Guide" button on the controller.
    • 3 Push the Xbox 360's "Connect" button, located on the front of the console.
    • 4 Push the controller's "Connect" button to sync it with the Xbox 360.

When i turn on my xbox i'm getting 3 flashing red lights what does this mean

it means your xbox is overheating, you can send it back as they extended the warranty on it for this common fault unless you have modified it, in which case look up ring of death on youtube.

Ok my consle is an xbox 360 arcade i have an eathnet cord and coneted it to my compter and it still wont work and i dont no how to set up my xbox live

how to connect the 360 to the Live network.
Before you do anything you are going to need to decide how you plan on connecting the bad boy. The 360 supports both wired and wireless connections. In order to use a wireless connection you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless adapter. Personally I find the wireless connection to be a bit too temperamental for my liking so I go with a wired connection via a router, but not everyone has the same wireless experience.
To set up the connection via a router unplug the router and the modem and turn off the 360. Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the out ports of the preexisting router then connect the cord to the back of your 360. Plug everything back in and turn and give the modem and router about 3 minutes to reboot.
Once you have given everything a few minutes to reboot you can turn the 360 back on. If you have already set up a gamer profile you will see the Xbox Live screen. If you have not set up an account you will be prompted to do so. All you need to do is follow the on screen instructions. It is a pretty cut and dry process and should not take more than 10 minutes of your time.

Red light on power box for 360

i have to personally dissagree with 'wildbear' :-)
well not actually dissagree but i think the problem will be at lot less technical than all the writing he has done.
a simpler check.......does the 360 'switch on' ??
i assume with a red light on the power brick it dosnt ??
the problem is more likely a faulty pin (terminal) inside one of the USB slots you have been using for either a controller charger or wired controller (or a usb memory stick to play music thru ur xbox??)......plugging chargers/wired controllers in & out of either the 2 front slots (behind the flap) or the 1 at the back can sumtimes bend one of the terminals causing it to touch the outer casing of the usb slot ?? if it does this it shorts the board of the 360 which in turn stops u powering up the 360 all together :-(
one of the signs of this is a 'RED' light on the power brick & the 360 not powering up at all !! but sumtimes the power brick light will stay orange or even green.....even with this fault ! it dosnt always turn red !
One way to rectify it is (un-plug the powere brick from the mains first) & unplug ALL USB CONNECTIONS TO THE 360 !! (controller chargers ect) & try powering up the 360 !! (after plugging it back in)
if this fails ur gonna need a torch & a little screw driver (or tweezers) un-plug everything from the 360 & look inside ALL usb slots you have used ! check to see if any of the prongs have bent accidently whilst plugging in & out chargers ect ..... if they have straighten them so they are not touching any of the sides of the usb slot....
after doing this ...plug back in and 'hopefully' Whoooop Whooooop :-)

hope this helps ??
failing this it maybe as wildbear suggests & its a problem with the power brick altho i very much doubt it ?? they normally way out live an xbox !
remember thumbs up if this helps :-)

I am trying to hook up my lap top to my xbox 360 i have a regular phone cord all plugged in and its not showing up anywhere

I think I know your problem, there are two types of "phone" cord one is a square plug called a RJ-11, and a Ethernet cord or "bigger phone cord" is more rectangular in size and is called a RJ-45

Here's a comparison1ed8810.gif

The xbox 360 takes the RJ-45 cable, now if you have the right cable, connect one end into the 360 and the other in the laptop. Turn on the xbox and the laptop. Now (depending on which OS) find the network connections under the control panel and make sure the connection is good. Then if your going to use your laptop as a wireless adapter all you have to do is select both the wireless and wired connections, right click and find bridge connections. Networking gets very complicated, trust me I've spent hours trying to figure something out. I did the easiest way possible. If my explanation isn't good enough I have some sites that might help but are more technical and require more knowledge of networking, but possible to do.

Site 1
Site 2 (the better one of the two)

If your still having trouble, go to xbox.com and look in the support section. Or if your really having problems call Microsoft at 1-800-4MYXBOX.

I hope you get your xbox connected with your PC, and it's so worth it when you get it hooked up. Good Luck!

We turn the tv and xbox on but there is no picture. We can hear the xbox power up and the tv works otherwise, but no visual for games.

is there sound? check the connections in the back of the tv. if you get red lights on the xbox, then it means a cable is loose some where. check the av swith on the av cord connected to the 360.

XBox 360 will not turn on

Best bet would buy a new controller
theres probably a short in the wiring rather than the controller
u can check for any bare wires showing or any kinks in the cord
