Question about Mitsubishi WS-65809 65" Rear Projection Television
I have what appears to be the same problem, on a 55 inch 2002 model. A good slap on the top or side provides temporary relief. I am curious, is that 'workaround' consistent with the analysis provided above regarding ICs?

This is a convergence problem and can be as simple as bad connections on the pins of the convergence ICs to defective ICs. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on the ICs, If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. These are large black Ics attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx. Depending upon the exact ones in your set, the cost should be between $15-$25 each (there are 2).
