Kenmore washing machine won't drain

I went to the LIBRARY and checked out a book on Washing Machine Repairs. It had all types of makes and models of washers. The book listed problems that can occur and solutions with complete diagrams of all the parts how to take the machine apart and put the replacement part in and put the machine back together. This all in a book I checked out from the local LIBRARY FREE of CHARGE. I'm going to spread the word that you don't have to pay for information on anything, JUST GO TO THE LOCAL LIBRARY. What a wonderful service they offer to all citizens.

This problem is usually caused buy the switch that the door must activate when its closed for the spin cycle for safety reasons. Either the screw mount breaks or the switch just fails there usually between 30-50$, very easy fix.

My washer would not drain or spin. I found that the probe on the door was not pushing the limit switch down far enough. I put a 1/4 inch extension on it and it now works.
