if there is a mode button , press that and there is fm 1 whch is what you have , press again and you get fm 2 press again and you get fm 3
each fm number is a band width so select the band width that has most pf your stations and then auto select on it
if you have the owners hand book , the procedures are in ti for setting the radio

I have an older (10 ) years Sansui am/fm receiver model rz-5500av. It performs well, but after a power surge, the fm radio will not play in stereo. The fm stereo indicator flashes on and off. I was told...

Part of the circuit is a stereo multiplexer decoder, that decodes the fm stereo signal, I guess that is what you mean when you talk about capacitor linked to the fm band.

I do not have the sbchematics for this circuit, if you are good at electonics just grab the tester and check the whole circuit. On a radio is not difficult to find a blown capacitor.

Test also the stereo/mono switch.

DEH-P7900 BT US model. Isthere any way I could change the tuner frequency to european one. Thanks.

The DEH-P7900BT is almost identical to the DEH-P85BT sold in Europe.

This is a US model and will tune most AM/FM stations in the UK/Europe. The FM broadcast band is 87.8 to 108.0 MHz. so it will not pick up any FM stations outside this range. Also, the tuning is in odd increments (such as 96.1, 96.3, 96.5, etc.) so some stations with even frequencies will be slightly distorted, depending on the power of the signal the station generates.

I found this bit of info for you but ill keep looking and let you know what i find out.
Also have you tried it in europe to see if it does work or not let me know ok

Fm radio works fine but the dab will not find any stations, I have tried different aerials and still no good

What's the make & model of the radio?
Most DAB/FM radios work from the same antenna, so if you receive FM stations, you should receive DAB stations in your area.
It should be noted that DAB transmitters work on lower power than conventional FM transmitters, and so you may be in a weak reception area (for DAB). It should also be noted that DAB uses different frequencies than regular FM stations and household appliances such as laptops,WiFi, microwave ovens, etc can affect DAb reception.

FM antenna is not providing reception, despite cable connected to powered antenna amplifier. TV also connected to powered antenna amplifier (splitter) works fine. FM mode produces only static. I purchased...

If I understand your setup, you've connected the receiver antenna terminal to the output of the antenna amplifier. If this is true, I'd suggest trying the receiver using a plain old FM dipole antenna (available at Radio Shack and other stores) or even just a piece of wire hooked to the antenna terminal. You should be able to pick up some local FM stations then.

What might be happening is that the FM is being filtered out by the amplifier. Some amps made mainly as a TV signal booster have an FM trap designed to block the FM broadcast band. In the analog broadcast days, the FM band was right near the sound part of a TV signal, and the trap was there to prevent interference. It may be filtering out your FM band.It may also be possible that you're just overloading the FM antenna input with the amplified signal. Sometimes a signal can be too strong. Using a simple wire antenna will let you test the receiver by itself.

Other than connecting an antenna you shouldn't have to do any setup for FM reception. If you still get no stations at all when using a simple antenna, then the receiver may need service. But I doubt Circuit City would have sold a floor model that was defective, even at the very end, unless it was clearly marked as such and sold "as-is". I'm pretty sure you'll find that the receiver works with an antenna made for FM.

I have a hatachi model #hta-3000 and the problem I am having is when I try to use the tuner the light comes on for AM but no music comes out and when I switch to fm the light turns off and no music just...

make sure you have the am and fm ones in the right ports but more importantly you will have to program the receiver for the correct channels i.e 104.1 fm etc. also there could be interference make sure the antenna is up on a wall close to the window. hope this helps

The MC-44 mic for my Kenwood 2 meter TM-231A transceiver quit operating. It will not key the receiver. I am looking for a fix or a replacement mic for this radio. Thanks, Don

Sorry to waste your time. You need to mention on your home page that you charge for your help instead of waiting until the last page to let everyone know about it.

As it is with the world wide web and the search tools available to most people, a person can find 'free' fix it information from 'experts' most of the time now days. It makes them feel good about helping someone...I think?

Any way, thanks for your time.

I have a audiovox dvd player model D1998PK. I need to know how to tell when the battery is charged.

1. A blinking light indicates that the battery is not charging.
2. The steady light goes out (or turns green) when the battery is charged.
3. 6 to 8 hours for the initial charge.
4. Charging time after the initial charge depends on the length of time the battery was used and will increase over time as the battery gets older.
5. 2.25 hours of play time
