Scroll lock on Logitech LX 710

Somehow, I have turned on Scroll Lock several times and can't come up with the combination of that made it happen. The only way to resolve it is to plug in a different keyboard and turn it off with that one's Scroll Lock key.

Suggestions?

1. Click on Start and click on "Run"
2. Type osk and click OK.
3. You will see the On Screen Keyboard (OSK)
4. If the "nlk" button is white, it will be a visible key on your keyboard. Blue is when the key is not visible and the dark blue with the red border when the NumLock is ON.

Scroll lock not turning off

Hi,

Try holding down the function key and hitting the numlock or scroll lock key, this is usually how you engage or disengage the laptops function keys on the keyboard . Most laptops have a light that will turn on and off when you do this, indicating that the funtion keys are in use.
Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

Dell Keyboar Problem -

This likely is one of two issues. A BIOS setting, and can be changed in the BIOS setup utility accessible at startup.

Or ...

If you are sure you have no computer virus or a hardware conflict than you can modify this setting by editing the registry on the computer. Normally, the computer applies the user settings when the user logs on, but it uses the default user profile when it is first turned on, before the user has logged on. To turn this functionality off, the default user settings must be modified. The Keyboard entry contains user preferences as defined by choosing the Keyboard icon in Control Panel. Entries are found under this registry path:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
InitialKeyboardIndicators REG_SZ Number set it default to 0.

If not:

* Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
* Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard (If the Keyboard key isn't there, add it.)
* Double-click the InitialKeyboardIndicators value on the right. (If it's not there, select New from the Edit menu, then String Value, and type InitialKeyboardIndicators for the name of the new value.)
* Change the value to any of the following:
0 - all indicators off
1 - Caps Lock on
2 - Num Lock on
4 - Scroll Lock on
Or, combine them by adding the corresponding values:
3 - Caps Lock and Num Lock on
5 - Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on
6 - Num Lock and Scroll Lock on
7 - Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock on
* Close the Registry Editor when you're done.

All the change should take effect when next time you start Windows.

My keyboard spaces about 5x after hitting it once

in this case you need to do the system restore to the earlier date and that will resolve the issue .

CAPs lock key is on al the time

When you start your PC, Num Lock, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock don’t automatically toggle on. You can automatically turn each of them on or off whenever your PC starts, for all accounts on the PC. As a practical matter, most people probably want to have only Num Lock automatically turned on, but this Registry hack gives you the power to force any combination of keys on or off.

Start>Run then type in "regedit" whithout quotes.
ab41d8e.jpg
HKEY_USERS.DefaultControl PanelKeyboard.
3eaaaca.jpg Find the String value
InitialKeyboardIndicators. By default, it is set to 0, which means that Num Lock, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock are all turned off. Set it to any of the following values, depending on the combination of keys you want turned on or off:
0 Turns off Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock
1 Turns on Caps Lock
2 Turns on Num Lock
3 Turns on Caps Lock and Num Lock
4 Turns on Scroll Lock
5 Turns on Caps Lock and Scroll Lock
6 Turns on Num Lock and Scroll Lock
7 Turns on Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock
Exit the Registry. When you restart, the new setting will take effect.

Note: You have problem with Caps Lock so just modify Caps lock option on Regedit.
And do not forget to run virus scan on your computer once you are done.

Rate always the all answers.

Thank you

How do i turn off scroll lock

One way is to click Start>Run. Type osk and click OK or press Enter.

When the On Screen Keyboard appears, click on the SLK key. Presto!

Kind of a pain, but at least you can do it.

Also reading another forum that suggests hitting the Fn+Pause/Break keys.

Note: You can also get to the On Screen Keyboard by going to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Accessibilty>On-screen Keyboard, but doing the Run>osk is quicker.

Status light on upper right illuminated - how to turn it off?

Hi,

Initially, have you checked/pressed on the "Scroll Lock" key (between Print Screen & Pause). To my knowledge, on most keyboards, the three common indicator lights are: Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock.

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Somehow I have locked the keys.

Turn the key? :-) No, seriously not sure what you mean by locking the keys. Did you restart your computer? Have you tried the keyboard on another computer. Check the status of the Num-Lock, Scroll-Lock, Caps-Lock, or F-Lock. Hope this helps.

Scroll Lock on -- mystery

On the Logitech LX710 Lazer the Scroll Lock option is toggled by holding down the "Function" key and pressing the "Pause/Break" key. If you look at the P/B key you will see a little orange symbol of an arrow pointing down to remind you of this feature. This can be disabled in the Setpoint panel by selecting Keyboard and Keyboard Inactive Keys then place a check in Disable Scroll Lock so you may have to remove a check mark first.
