Question about BenQ PB6200 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Stuck in blank mode

Our Benq PB6200 appears to be stuck in blank mode. Projector appears to be turning on normally but, we never see the warm up Benq screen. The projected image is just gray like its in blank mode or the lens cap is on. Unable to get any menu items to come up. Tried swapping the bulb. Is there like a forced reset button or something?

I'm having the same sort of problem, except mine is stuck in the blue screen where it is searching for the input. The only button that works on the remote or on the projector itself is the power button. I won't let me change source, bring up the remote or anything.

Most likely (90% sure) you need a new Main Board.

This Board is for sale on Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170296659472

it's not the lamp. if you've replaced the cords and still have the problem, reset the settings to factory default to make sure the resolution matches. if still not ok, there may be an issue with the main board.

No to your question. The lens is fixed it cannot shift horizontally only although there are projectors that can do this. I am sure you have the front foot retracted? I have had to do the same as you are doing or find a lower table.

I have connected projector to laptop but they're not talking to each other??? I'm desperate with presentation to 200+ and no video support

Hello.

Be certain that the VGA cable (connected from the projector to the laptop) is snug.

If you look at the "F" keys (top row of your keyboard), you should either see "CRT/LCD" or see a symbol of a screen. That's the function key you press, along with the Fn key (actually, hold the Fn key then press that "F" key). The first press shows one screen, the 2 press the other screen and the 3rd press both screens.

Hope this helps.

Power is on, projector isn't working

if there are no leds lit, replace the power supply. if there are, and the fans are on but no light, it's the colorwheel.

Benq pb6100, light bulb does not on, power ok

I fixed the exact same problem on my PB6200. Both back fans were not working, and the bulb would not turn on.

In my projector, the fan board had a bad capacitor. The fan board is the one where all 3 fans are connected, and which is facing upside down on top of the powerboard. The bad capacitor on my projector was coded C7302 on the schematics. It's a brown, 25v 470uf capacitor.

I recommend you to open your projector, unplug all connections to the fan board, turn it upside, and inspect the capacitors and other components. Bad capacitors have a bulge and/or a black stain or fluid coming out on the top. You can find pictures on the net.
