Thanks for the reply. I did try that before contacting you. After resetting it again shows Low Battery.I also plugged it to charger overnight but it did not recharge. I have no warranty on my Zen Touch. I can not send to the company for repair or anything. Can you suggest any other solution?

    Thanks.

Dear Sir,

It is recommended that you download and install the latest driver and firmware update from www.nomadworld.com.

If your player is not detected by Windows when the player is inserted to a USB port, or if there is message "Player is not
detected" or "player is busy" in Creative MediaSource, or Creative PlayCenter, or if there is an error message in Windows
Device Manager, please follow the procedures below.
• Check the battery status of your player, and make sure that the battery is charged. Verify the power cord connection if the player is using a power
adaptor.
• Connect your player directly to a USB port on the motherboard, instead of a USB hub. If the player is already connected to a USB port, disconnect
it, and connect it to a different USB port.
• Try a different USB cable if your player requires a USB cable.
• Disconnect any other USB/Firewire devices temporarily.
• Ensure you are using the latest USB drivers for your motherboard or the latest drivers for your Firewire controller.
• Uninstall the player drivers and reinstall the drivers:
1. Log on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure below.
2. Attach your player to your computer, and verify that it is powered on.
3. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware Tab and Device Manager
4. Delete any Creative MP3 product entries by right clicking on the entry and selecting Uninstall. The MP3 players may be listed under
Other Devices or Unknown Devices.
5. To reinstall the device, on the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes.

If you experience one or more of the following symptoms, it is recommended that you download and install the latest driver
and firmware update from www.nomadworld.com, and format your player or reset your player by booting the player into its
unique Recovery Mode:
• Your player is not detected in Creative MediaSource or Windows Media Player
• The battery does not last as expected
• Your computer stops responding during file transfers
• There is a power outage during file transfers
It is recommended that you run the Scan Disk (if applicable) first, then run Clean Up. Neither, of these will affect the musical
files. This process however will remove links to music files that are no longer present in the player.
If the difficulty persists, you can format the player (Format All), which will erase all music and data files from your player; you
can also try to reload firmware (or Reload OS).
Not all players have firmware available for download. Before selecting Reload Firmware or Reload OS, ensure that there is a
firmware available at www.creative.com or www.nomadworld.com. Follow the installation instruction in its firmware release
note "Show Details".
Creative Zen Micro Players
1. Turn off the Zen Micro player.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the Zen Micro. Hold the Power
button until the rescue mode appears.
4. The following options will be displayed:
Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players hard disk, it will not affect music files)
Format All (Formats the players hard disk - Note: all contents will be lost)
Reload Firmware (Reloads the Operating System on the Jukebox. Note: Reloading your OS, will not effect the
contents of the files stored on your Zen Micro)
Reboot (Reboots the device).

Thanks
Good Luck

Ok, The battery may need to be replaced and as the firmware is messed up..

Unless you are willing to change the battery yourself and if you are unable to fix the firmware by downloading it from the creative website (it shows player not detected)

Then you have to send this one to creative for service do you have warranty?

Being a end user all you can do from your side is to try a reset and a complete format of the set.

if this is not helping u you will have to send it back to company only.

first try that can you can make is
    trying a new firmware
follow this procedure exactly for doing that.
    1. First of all Plug in the player in the computers USB port.
    2. Now Goto device manager(found in hardware properties of my computer) ....remove it's drivers and remove USB Roots (dont worry they'll all reload.. so do it with out any fear)
    3. Now Reboot and unplug the player.
    4. After windows loads goto add/remove programs and uninstall the windows media player. Select downgrade.
    5. And it may ask you to reboot.. If it asks you to reboot do so.
    6.
Then locate c:\program files\creative and just manually delete the
folder you can put it back on if you wish later but it's useless and
    outdated junk.

Now reboot. Plug the device in and install the firmware.
    link for firmware download.
going to creative.com click support, then downloads then find your mp3
player Zen touch of course and it will give you downloads. the link will take you till this point.
    You need to
download the latest firmware for it on a windows XP computer then select the 2.XX.XXX firmware download not the other one because it
wont work with windows right. If you need any other stuff like a driver
or app. they are also under the downloads are where you looked for the
    Zen Touch

If this works let me know.

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK IT CAN BE THE BATTERY ISSUE.

when it comes time to replace the internal battery that it will be a lot easier than a Zen Sleek

the battery life on this unit is incredible usually.

battery was being sold here. but they have discontinued. but u can try contacting them and request to ship one for you.

    this wil fix u easily.

    hope it helps.

    thank you

dont forget to accept MY solution if u go by it.

feel free for asking any doubts u have.

    thank u for ur cooperation.

good luck for getting fixed soon

Does other USB devices work on your computer?
If your USB ports are OK then then Zen may need a driver installed.

If not then -
There could be a problem with the USB ports on your computer
or
The USB driver is corrupted or not installed properly

If all fails, then download the MP3 files from your friend's computer, you might have to bribe your friend.

Try rebooting your Zen whilst it is plugged in by using a paper clip in the bottom corner, same side as the power button.

Computer doesn't recognize device is plugged in.

Hi,
try aa different USB Port if your computer Has One.
Turn the power On The MPEG Player on and off when it,s Connected.
If this does,nt help.
Replace your USB lead, it is possibly broken internally, or player fault.

Computer won't recdonsie my zen touch

· Make sure you have media player 11
· If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
· Download recovery tool off creative's website.
· go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them
