Canon MP810 wont turn on.... HELP!!

My Canon MP810 printer will NOT turn on. The other day I used it to copy something and everything was working fine, I come back today, the thing literally will not turn on. Yes, it is plugged in to an outlet. Yes, I did try another outlet (in another room). It almost seems like the thing has shorted or something... The only possible explanation I could come up with is that there was a blackout a couple nights ago and that could have possibly damaged the machine.. but really, that doesnt explain this. PLEASE HELP!!!

I had the same thing happen to me today. I came home and the printer was off. I went to turn it on and nothing happened. We had a power outage today and I'm affraid it fried it. I've tried everything and I can't get it to power up. Help!

Unbelievably I had the exact same thing happen to me on July 10th. I've tried moving the printer to other power outlets... and nothing. It has always been attached to a surge protector, we have not had any power outages lately, and no other electronics on the same power outlet have had any problems. I figured this was just a fluke but....

It hardly seems a coincidence if a few of us are all of the sudden having the same exact problem crop up within just a few days of each other. I'm starting to wonder if its a software issue with something on the printer's motherboard. I'd love to know what you guys have found out, and if you've managed to fix it. Thanks much...

Same deal - power went out, printer is plugged into a surge protector, and I get nothing when I try to print. No solutions found yet, huh?

The only thing is to open it and get to the power board, check the fuse on the board. if it's ok then you need to change the board

I have a canon MP810 it is coming up with error code 6B00, what does this mean ?

You probably have something stuck in the paper feed or under the print head.
First try moving the print head left and right with the printer off. If that doesn't work then, Try looking for jam in the paper feed and specifically under the rollers. A small piece of paper or other debris, like fallen paper clip, staple. postage stamp are things I have seen stuck in printers that cause jams and error codes.
If these solutions don't work, post comment here.

An error message 5020 appeared and the machine is not working, how to solve (to reset)?

error [5020] is not big problem. You just need to release the scaner lock switch and turn the power off and on back. Then you may enjoy to use your PIXMA MP810

Canon Pixma Mp810 won't turn on, any suggestions

I had the same problem. Everything was working fine one day, but when I tried to switch it on the next day, nothing! The status light came on green briefly but then turned off. I thought the power module might be blown so I ordered a new one, that changed nothing, my printer was still completely dead, showing no sign of working at all.
I dismantled it to inspect every component for signs of failure, everything looked like new. Having read that the print heads can fail (dry out then blow) on canon printers, I tried starting the printer without the printhead and hey presto, it turned on and went through it's startup cycle. After making whirring sounds for a while a message popped up telling me that there was no printhead installed. As soon as I reinserted the printhead the printer turned off and wouldn't turn on again, even if I removed the printhead again (and unplugged/waited etc). I had to unplug and then re-plug a connector on the printer's motherboard to get back to the stage when the printer would turn on (without the printhead).
I have inspected the printhead with high powered magnification and found nothing unusual - a new printhead is about $100! My final conclusion is that there is nothing actually "wrong" with the printer but rather that it is a case of programmed obsolescence. My printer is about 5 years old (like new) and in the service manual that is the prescribed lifetime for the printer, so it's designed to simple stop working after that time.
PS. I did do the ink well reset procedure, didn't help.

CANON PIXMA MP810 PROBLEMS - Aghhhhh!! I can

Try this,

scan the document to the computer, then view it using a picture viewer.

You may see that the scan is faulty!

The printer may be printing exactly what it sees!

MP810 error 6B00

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Transparency copy problem

The setting should go something like this- Colour reflective Black and white reflective Colour Negative. Colour Transparency. Black and white negative. Some scanners automatically sense and switch to what is loaded - others need setting up. So check thoroughly all the settings in conjunction with the manual[A full manual in PDF format is usually on the software disk. Then come back
