Question about Washing Machines
You stated that Frigidaire gave you a replacent (redesigned) seal for the door of your front-load washer. Is that replacement any better? I have contacted Frigidaire about mine, and they want me to pay for the labor, but if the seal is the issue, they will give me the seal for free.
I just need to know if the new seal is any better before I shell out the $$ for the labor.

SOURCE: front load washer
Hitchhiker, you don't have to remove the front of the washer. The original boot was glued in areas around the door. They came out with a new design because of water leakage on the bottom. The new kit, part number 5303937187 comes with a spring that holds it on to the panel. You can do one or two things, if you don't have the leaking problem, glue the boot back on. Or you can order the new kit, it comes with instructions and replace the whole boot. Check it out, it might be covered under service flash #26-758BR. In any event this job can be done by leaning the washer back against the wall to make room between the tub and front panel. You are going to need an assist, it's better with 2 people. Hello ladybug4527 - From what you have described it seems that you are speaking about the gasket (rubber seal). If so and if it is leaking, contact a professional to move forward accurately because it will need replacing.
