Keeps freezing up after downloads

My new Insignia NS-8V24 player, that I've had for 3-4 months, won't charge. I've used charging USB lines I have to charge it on every computer possible, but it won't charge. It would turn off and on for a few seconds and turn off again. I do not know what to do, because I cannot download music into the Mp3 player if it cannot be turned on. What should I do?

Get a bright light and look into the USB connectorof the USB Drive. It is possible that there is lint, paper bits, cookiecrumbs, Chocolate cruddies from Valentines day, etc in there and that is your problem. The outer 2 connectionsof the USB is DATA and the inner two Power. B/C it is able to flash, youare getting power... but the data lines may be dirty, covered, bent, etc.

Clean it up and try again. Flat toothpick, small ty-wrap orProxident (dental/braces) brushes work well for this - DO NOT useanything Metal!! It will scratch the connectors and vastly shortentheir life (they are GOLD plated)

Short of that, goto HPsite and get their USB format tool (get it here: ) and try reformatting... if that doesn't work, it is hosed and only I can fix itso let me know ;-)
