The driver can be found on the acer support and downloads website. i reverted to xp for the reboot problem and found all the drivers there. try this link and read the descriptions. for problem of shuting off, go into bios and disable variable fan speed. fans run all the time, but system stay's on.

Compaq Presario 2050NX onboard pnp nic (LAN) device not found - reinstalled onboard LAN device driver, still can't see it

For Windows XP CLICK HERE
In Windows 7 the driver installs automatically
I would suggest uninstalling all drivers for the network adapter then reboot and allow the system to find the NIC again. If this is Windows XP uninstall all drivers for the NIC, reboot, and install the above driver.
If it is Windows 7 uninstall the drive, reboot and allow device manager to locate the driver itself.

Hello nfor2
Sound drivers are free . You just need to identify the soundcard and go to the manufacturer's site and download the driver . Maybe you can access the recovery data on one of the partitions . You will find the driver there .

Aspire L310 Desktop: can acer aspire L310 desktop work with win xp and ...

Yes. I am currently updating an Acer Aspire L310 (lunchbox format) desktop.

Many of the drivers are contained on the XP installation disk and will automatically be installed when you install XP.

Other Drivers:

Assuming your L310 has the same hardware (may not), you can use the following Hardware detail to locate the drivers by typing in the hardware model into a search engine like Bing.

NIC - Marvell Yukon 88e8056 PCI-e GB; this driver can be downloaded from www.cnet.com. On this website, just type in the model info and it will direct you to the driver download.

Wireless NIC - Broadcom 802.11g; download from www.cnet.com

Display/motherboard chipset - Once you have installed XP and the NIC driver, go to www.intel.com and click on the "downloads/support" option. The website provides an autodetect utility that will identify your hardware and provide updated drivers.

Audio - go to Realtek website and select "downloads". Download/install the high definition audio driver for XP.

Once you are up and running with XP, run the Microsoft Windows Update utility and it will find updates for many of the essential drivers.

...hope this info helps

Does not recognize a ethernet connection. Just rebooted with windows XP

If you have just installed Windows XP on this system, you may need to locate your network interface card (NIC) drivers on the manufacturer's website. Since you do not have network connectivity, this can be done on another computer and use a USB device or a CD/R to transfer them.
It is best to find the model of the computer and search the computer manufacturer's website for correct drivers. If they are not available, then find the NIC type in the specifications of the computer, and search the internet for the drivers for that card.

The onboad NIC card is not recognised by device manager when I reinstalled windows xp SP2. I've downloaded the correct NIC card drivers for a presario SR2020NX directly from their website. When I look...

Uninstall the drivers for the device completely and restart the system. It should install the correct drivers upon restart. If not, retry installing the NIC card drivers that you download.

Are you sure that you download the ethernet drivers and not the Utility program? It's easy to confuse the two.

AHave a problem in device manager with an ethernet driver. Cannot find one that will work.

This is the WIndows 2000 NIC driver http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=33486&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us〈=en&os=181&product=93925 If you are using Windows XP it MAY work but from what I see, the NIC driver should be native to XP. But you can give it a try. Since the Network Card is an Expansion Card, it is also possible it has been replaced already with a different model. If this driver doesn't work, you might consider replacing the NIC as they are generally under $20

I can't see my nic card to access the internet I loaded windows XP professional

The only option is to download the driver from another system on a USB drive or CD etc, then load the NIC driver on the system.

Since you didn't list the brand and model, we can't give you suggested downloads.
