Question about ASUS R1E-B1 Tablet PC
When i restarted the laptop so that it would install an update yesterday i switched it off in the middle by mistake when it says "do not turn off the system" on the screen. Now when i turn it on, a black screen with white writing comes up saying mainly that i can either press "Launch Startup Repair (recommended)" and "Start Windows Normally",
If i press the Repair one the screen goes blank for half a second then it goes back to the same place it just was.
If i press the start normally one the laptop switches off and when it starts it goes back to the same place it just was.
what can i do to fix it?
Have you tried doing a system recovery using the "hot" keys for the machine. Contact ASUS support for the instructions.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you have run the laptop in safe mode it uses the standard VGA graphics driver, and this indicates the onboard graphics card is still functioning.
Try connecting and external monitor to your laptop and the boot up your laptop.
1. Download the latest graphics driver from ASUS WEB site.
2. uninstall the graphics driver.
3. Reboot the laptop and install the new graphics driver.
4. Shut down and remove the external monitor and reboot.
5. Goto the Control panel - Display and check/set the settings for screen resolution, Colour setting etc.
