How to reset 5 minute blower delay for carrier 4 ton central system-instlalled 1995

We had our system worked on some time ago and now have realized that our electric bills have gone up and that our 5 minute delay on the blower is not working-we believe that it was not reset after the repair-but is too late to call the company back. We would like to know hw to reset this as it is a part of the system that we really liked for obvious reasons. We have a gas furnace installeda at the same time-when the house was built. My husband has experience with ac systems some years ago-and with location of switch and info-could reset it. Thanks

I understand that my furnace has a blower off delay that has to be reset manually. I guess I didn't state my question exact enough. I need to know where to find this circuit board and how to set it. Thanks a bunch!!

There are potentially 3 time delay relays in this system.

1) Many digital Thermostats come with compressor ON delays that are not serviceable.
2) There is an accesory manual Time delay available for this unit. It is also a compressor ON delay. (located in the electrical compartment of the condenser)
3) Most newer furnaces have a blower OFF delay (set manually at the circuit board.

I have the technical manual for this unit if you need it.

Squeaky condenser fan motor on Carrier 3 ton central air. I oiled once 4 months ago and noise stopped but noise returned today. Is there a special oil for the berings?

Hello
Usually a light oil.Wd 40.
Most of these motors are sealed bearings, meaning they do not get oiled. When they start making noise it means the motor bearings are getting worn and the motor will need to be replaced soon.

I have got 5 to 6 months out of noisy motors using a light household oil or WD 40.

What are the carrier 8000ts led error codes?

They are listed inside the front panel of the main unit.

LED CODE

EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STATUS CODES IS A TWO DIGIT NUMBER WITH THE FIRST

DIGIT DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF SHORT FLASHES AND THE SECOND DIGIT BY

THE NUMBER OF LONG FLASHES.

STATUS

11 NO PREVIOUS CODE - Stored status code is erased automatically after 72

hours. On RED LED boards stored status codes can also be erased when power

(115 VAC or 24 VAC) to control is interrupted.

12 BLOWER ON AFTER POWER UP (115 VAC or 24 VAC) -Blower runs for 90

seconds, if unit is powered up during a call for heat (R-W closed) or R-W opens

during blower on-delay.

13 LIMIT CIRCUIT LOCKOUT - Lockout occurs if the limit or flame rollout switch is

open longer than 3 minutes.

- Control will auto reset after three hours. - Refer to #33.

14 IGNITION LOCKOUT - Control will auto-reset after three hours. Refer to #34.

21 GAS HEATING LOCKOUT - Control will NOT auto reset.

Check for: - Mis-wired gas valve -Defective control (valve relay)

22 ABNORMAL FLAME-PROVING SIGNAL - Flame is proved while gas valve is

de-energized. Inducer will run until fault is cleared. Check for:

- Leaky gas valve - Stuck-open gas valve

23 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT OPEN Check for:

- Obstructed pressure tubing. - Pressure switch stuck closed.

24 SECONDARY VOLTAGE FUSE IS OPEN Check for:

- Short circuit in secondary voltage (24VAC) wiring.

31 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED - If open longer than

five minutes, inducer shuts off for 15 minutes before retry. Check for:

- Excessive wind - Proper vent sizing - Defective inducer motor

- Low inducer voltage (115VAC) - Defective pressure switch

- Inadequate combustion air supply - Restricted vent

- Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing

- Low inlet gas pressure (if LGPS used)

If it opens during blower on-delay period, blower will come on for the selected

blower off-delay.

33 LIMIT CIRCUIT FAULT - Indicates a limit, or flame rollout is open. Blower will

run for 4 minutes or until open switch remakes whichever is longer. If open

longer than 3 minutes, code changes to lockout #13. If open less than 3 minutes

status code #33 continues to flash until blower shuts off. Flame rollout switch

requires manual reset. Check for: - Restricted vent

- Proper vent sizing - Loose blower wheel - Excessive wind

- Dirty filter or restricted duct system.

- Defective blower motor or capacitor. - Defective switch or connections.

- Inadequate combustion air supply (Flame Roll-out Switch open).

34 IGNITION PROVING FAILURE - Control will try three more times before lockout

#14 occurs. If flame signal lost during blower on-delay period, blower will come

on for the selected blower off-delay. Check for: - Control ground continuity

- Flame sensor must not be grounded

- Oxide buildup on flame sensor (clean with fine steel wool).

- Proper flame sense microamps (.5 microamps D.C. min., 4.0 - 6.0 nominal).

- Gas valve defective or gas valve turned off - Manual valve shut-off

- Defective Hot Surface Ignitor

- Low inlet gas pressure

- Inadequate flame carryover or rough ignition

- Green/Yellow wire MUST be connected to furnace sheet metal

45 CONTROL CIRCUITRY LOCKOUT Auto-reset after one hour lockout due to;

- Gas valve relay stuck open - Flame sense circuit failure

- Software check error

Reset power to clear lockout. Replace control if status code repeats.

If status code recall is needed, briefly remove then reconnect one main limit wire to display

stored status code. On RED LED boards do not remove power or blower door before initiating

status code recall. After one status code recall is completed component test will occur.

I looked up information and the unit is obsolete. I also did not see a time delay in the diagram with the original unit. It must have been added later. Post me back and let me know where it goes and what numbers it has on it.

Model number for Carrier furnace with issue for blower 5 minute off delay

I believe that this model number is for an air conditioner evaporator coil. This unit is probably directly attached to your furnace. The Model number for the furnace will be located in the compartment where the flames can be seen. It will be on a sticker or plate that contains lots of other information too like BTU/h, Volts etc...

The number you gave me gives me this info:
Cased air conditioning evaporator coil.
3 Tons
Horizontal application

5 min time delay for central system blower unit not reset whe serviced

Make sure to turn off the furnace at the breaker or disconnect switch before attempting to touch the electronics of the furnace. Also look around the furnace for an owners manual. The manual will have the process for changing the blower off delay. I have given you a pretty generic process below. If you need more specific directions I will need your model and serial number. If your furnace is new enough I may be able to find your manual in our system. Good Luck:)

In most cases a circuit board model will have a small (1/4 inch x 1/8 inch) black, plastic jumper. I think I remember that some can be red also. Anyway This jumper is plugged on to two vertical prongs coming from the board. There are other bare prongs on either side of the jumper. If you look at the writing on the board you will see different numbers ranging from 60 to 190. These numbers represent seconds in time. You can change this jumper to match the seconds that you want for the blower off delay.
