Hitachi dzmv3000e digatal camcorder when disc is format and on record the disc only records the sound but no picture

I have exactly the same problem. If I tap the outside of the camcorder the picture comes back but it isn't a great picture and often slips back to the blank screen. I assume it's a fault with the lens. Sounds expensive too!

Camcorder when recording displays, hard disk error occurred and does not record.

Possible that you will need to format off the hard disc and clean off all the files present. The camcorder seems to hang up as there is some errors occurs on the hard disc. If this wont solve it is possible that some sectors in the hard disc can be faulty.

I am using an sd card when i hit the record button it says cannot record video on the model number DZ-GX5020

Sorry, but as far as I know, Hitachi camcorders cannot record video directly onto an SD card. You have to set the camcorder to DVD. It can only record video and pictures on a DVD, and only pictures on an SD card.

Can I playback my movies on a DVD-ROM drive?

No, DVD-RAM disc recorded on the DVD Camcorder will not play back on every drive. Some of the new DVD-ROM drives designed to be compliant with the new DVD-RAM book2 standards will playback discs recorded on the DVD Camcorder. Many previous DVD-ROM drives on the market that came out before the DVD-RAM standard was released will not play back discs recorded on the DVD Camcorder. HITACHI manufactures DVD-ROM drives for some PC manufactures as OEM products. HITACHI model GD-7500 DVD-ROM has DVD-RAM read/write compatibility.

Are there any DVD players/recorders that will play back both DVD-RAM and DVD-R discs?

Yes. Although at the present time most DVD players only support DVD-R playback, Hitachi’s DVRF7U will play back both DVD-RAM and DVD-R discs. In addition, there is a growing number of affordably priced DVD-RAM players that support both of these formats. Why should I record my memories on a Hitachi DVD Camcorder?

The picture and sound quality of footage stored on a DVD does not degrade over time. Home movies can be shared with friends and family decades into the future in perfect and pristine condition. Motion video stored on a 8 cm (3 inch) DVD-R disc can be played back on most DVD players and compatible PC DVD drives. After finalizing the DVD-R disc in the camcorder, it can be placed directly into your home DVD player and played back. No additional adapters are necessary and you do not have to connect the camcorder to the television. With DVD, you can instantly access desired scenes without having to endure the time consuming task of fast-forwarding or rewinding. Through Hitachi’s Disc Navigation feature, you simply select the thumbnail image of your favorite scene and it begins to play immediately. 2005 Hitachi DVD Camcorders support four different types of recording media. For motion video you have the option of using a 8 cm (3 inch) DVD-R disc or a 8 cm (3 inch) DVD-RAM disc. Digital still photos can be stored on DVD-RAM discs, Secure Digital cards or MultiMedia Cards. Size Hitachi introduced the world’s first DVD based camcorder three years ago. Since then, Hitachi engineers have been able to perfect the technology and to reduce the physical mass of the camcorder by 45% making it the most portable DVD camcorder in the industry.
