For your to format the memory stick of your sonyericsson handset, all you need to do is...

From homescreen, press menu>ORGANIZER>FILEMANAGER>press OPTIONS>SELECT MEMORY STATUS>SELECT MEMORY CARD>PRESS OPTIONS> now SELECT FORMAT MEMORY CARD and PRESS YES.. it will ask for a PHONE LOCK CODE, by default "0000" is the code for SONYERICSSON HANDSET.

OR, once you inserted the A NEW MEMORY STICK, it will immediately format it.

Formatting means erasing all the information from the memory stick. When you format you will loose all your data on your memory stick.

I have a nokia 6288 mobile i forget my security code and i want to format may cell but trying formating code *#7370# mobile ask for security code i try default security code 12345 but not code not valid can some one help me.

Dont panic... Just insert the memory stick in to a card reader and donot try to open it. but make sure that your memory stick gets detected.Then you can use any of the file recovery softwares to recover the photographs with out formating.I generally use the free app "PC file recovery". In case your memory stick is not detected in the first place, then There is no other option other than formatting. But the recovery software can recover 90% of the photos even after formatting.
