My daughters 2005 Ford Taurus went dead after leaving her lights on accidently after only 10 minutes. Someone jumped her and all was well. Since then ,every once in a while, ALL of her signal/trouble lights come on when she starts it. She has no problems driving it. When she stops, turns it off and restarts...no signal/trouble lights. What should be her first problem solving move? It still is the original battery we think or could it be computer chip problems?

2005 Ford Focus. Dashboard dead, no brake lights and blinkers.

AutoZone have some funny ideas!

Problems like this are very hard to diagnose. Call out a local auto-electrician. You need someone with a pro grade scan tool and access to wiring schematics and the knowledge to use both.

Sunday went to start and it began to start and went dead. Charged battery and cranked up.

Can someone scan it for codes ? Pending codes may not set a light .

No power and batt is good

My first guess would be a dead cell inside the battery, or a blown fuseable link between the battery and the fuse box.
Someone would need to check the battery connections and fuse box with a meter.

My daughter car battery went dead had a jump start but her cousin put the leads on the wrong terminal could this have blown the main fuse as no lights at all put new battery on today

Yes this will defiantly blow the main engine fuse. This fuse is located in the engine compartment and is usually bolted down with 10mm bolts.

I would say that you need to replace the alternator. The car was running on the batteries power. When you drove the car, it ran the battery completely dead.

I was sitting in the car for a few hours listening to the radio and turning the car on and off several times during that time. when i went to leave the battery was dead. got a jump and drove home, about 20...

If the battery was run down enough 20 minutes of dring will not recharge it. It should go on a battery charger and then the battery condition checked. Just sitting and using the battery to play the radio is not a good idea. That is very hard on the battery and will shorten the life severly. If the battery was still the original I'd just replace the battery for a battery that old too much damage would have been done to even chance using it if would last it will not be long.

2005 ford taurus engine light on

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. This may reset the lights timer. If it comes back on within the next few days the take it to a large auto parts store and most will bring their computer out and hook it to your car and read the code the light will leave in your car computer, then they tell what the code says and try to sell you the part. You might car the auto parts store first and tell them what you have and ask if then can read your code for you.Its usually a free service.
