Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

Dvd rom is not running

WHEN I INSERT ANY DISC IT SPIN FOR A WHILE THAN NOTHING HAPPENED.

THE LIGHT IS BLICKING .WHEN I TRY TO ACCESS A HAVE AN ERROR "THE REQUEST CAN NOT BE PERFORMED DUE TO AN I/O DEVICE ERROR"

    i have installed dvd-ram drver but donot have dvd decoder.so what i shall do to run dvd-rom

Dear,

IF you are repair tech, Check whether DVD ROM connections to MOBO are ok. Else, you need to replace the DVD-ROM. Try Searching on Ebay.

Dvd rom not working propetly


Please try to insert another disk for testing.
If nothing works then try to check with another DVD rom for testing.
If the other DVD rom not working then this is registry of windows problem
If other DVD rom works then your original DVD rom is faulty.

My dvd rom not not support all dvd n vcd disc before read that but now some dvd can read

This is gonna be a bit complicated since were going to access your registry, but just follow all the steps and it will be much easier
1. Click on START
2. Type REGEDIT on the search bar on START Menu on the Run Box
3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4. Expand SYSTEM
5. Expand CurrentControlSet
6. Expand Control
7. Expand Class
8. Click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
9. Look for the Upper Filters / right click on it / click on Delete
10. Look for the Lower Filters / right click on it / click on Delete
11. Restart PC
12. Try you CD / DVD ROM
If nothing happens, click on this link then click on RUN and follow the steps, then restart computer and try to run a disc again, if still nothing happens, theres a possibility that the problem is with the hardware side or the media player that you are you using...

Hie i have hp Dv6976ca with matshita Davd/blue ray, it never plays Any Movie , DVD, Songs ... or any other thing .... the only Disk it plays is its own recovery Disk , and when ever i put my Dvd in it ,...

Cant read dvd video,,


The best recommendation I can make would be to install VLC (VideoLAN.) It is the best free media player software, and it will allow you to open DVDs

There are two ways of fixing the problem as long as its not a hardware issue at all, first is to access the registry make some changes on it and second is to run the autofix from microsoft.

goto program defaults/media player/disc insertion= and choose the options you require. Or goto computer-cd/dvd drive and choose the program you wish to run the disc
