    Thanks and I would appreciate a reply if that got fixed or not.

What's your problem?hi iam using winods vista ultimTE but i cant change the resolution of my screen

Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list
or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system

also you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal

size, larger size or custom settings
Always click APPLY after making any changes

windows 7

Open Personalization by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization.

Click Window Color and Appearance.

Under Window Color and Appearance, click the color you want, and then click OK.

Note

If you see the Appearance Settings dialog box instead of the Window Color and Appearance

window, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the color scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero.

Hope this helps.

Ihad my computer mem wiped out because of virus,no fix it disc how to restore it to origunal factory settings

Reset the parameters you stated above yourself. No need for a Restoration Disk, or a Full Installation disk.

(Full Installation disk = New genuine copy of Windows.
{ Note* Microsoft makes one Master disk. From this all genuine copies are made, and sold to the consumer )

A) Can't rip CD's or movies? I suggest the free Infra Recorder.

Home page;

http://infrarecorder.org/

Screenshots;

http://infrarecorder.org/?page_id=4

B) Screen is too big?
Go to eMachines Support, your desktop computer model number, and Drivers. Download AND install the VGA drivers.

Then reset the Screen Resolution, to the native resolution of the monitor, in Display Properties.

[ Display Properties:
Windows XP;
1) Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen

2) Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the fly-out list

To change Screen Resolution:
3) Left-click on the Settings tab

4) Go down to the middle of the small window to -
Screen resolution

5) Drag the Slider to the pixel ratio you need.
(Left-click on Slider, hold the left mouse button down, slide the mouse in the direction you want the Slider to go )

6) On Color quality to the right;
Make sure it is set at - Highest (32 bit)

If it isn't;
Left-click on the blue down arrow, to the right of the Color quality box.
Left-click on Highest (32 bit)
Left-click on Apply at the bottom right
Then left-click on OK at the bottom left

Find your monitor on the internet, if it did not come with your eMachines. See what the native resolution is.
Also, monitors come with an installation disk, which also has the drivers on it.

C) Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > To the left under the heading - See Also, click on - Fonts.
Change the font size (If needed after changing Screen resolution)

D) Click on Internet Explorer
Go to your browser home page, (Yahoo, Firefox, etc), and set it up again.

E) Go to Microsoft Support, and download the new Windows Media Player,

[ Click on Windows Media > Downloads and Updates > Get Windows Media Player,

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player

IF memory serves Gateway bought out eMachines, then Acer bought out Gateway, and eMachines.
I have heard it is tough, and/or expensive to obtain a Restoration Disk, plus a lengthy wait.

Otherwise it is buy a new genuine copy of Windows, install it, and when asked save the old files.

Help I have just installed this software called corel video studios express 2010 but i cant open it as it displays a window saying the supported minimum screen resolution is 1024x768 help

The screen you are using is set to a resolution below what is needed. My guess is you are using a TV or widescreen monitor you have set to 1280 x 720 which is not large enough. Change the screen resolution to some higher than what is recommended like 1366 x 768 or higher.

Hello, i got my new graphic card (ASUS EAH6850 Direct CU 1GB/D5) and i placed it in my pc and got all cables on the right place. the screen works, does everything but resolution isnt good and i cant...

First if you haven't done so, you need to install all the drivers that came with the new video card. when you first install a video card only some bare bones basic drivers are used to access and make the video card function. Those drivers will make the video seem jumpy and have low resolution.
Once that is completed and your computer is restarted, you might need to change your resolution. to do that, here is the easiest way:
Find a spot of your computer desktop without icons and right click. there should be a menu that pops up. In windows xp you need to select the menu item that says properties and click the tabs of the new window you have up until you see resolution. In windows 7 it says screen resoultion. Change the slider bar until you find it right one for you.
If you set it to high not to worry, don't hit anything for 15 seconds after you change it and will revert automatically.

I adjusted resolution on my HP notebook now when I turn on cant see screen. Please help

Hi Jess,

Boot the computer in SAFE MODE by Restarting the computer, and the moment its on keep tapping the F8 key untill you see a screen saying "Windows Advanced option...".

1. Select Safe Mode using the keyboard arrow key and hit enter.
2. This will load all basic drivers to start safe mode operation.
3. Go to Display Properties (WindowsXP) or Display Settings (Windows Vista) by right click on empty blank space on Desktop, then select Properties(Windows XP) or Personalize(Windows Vista).
4. Then change the resolution by sliding the Low to High slider bar. Do not press "OK" or "Apply" at this time.
5. Instead, click on Advanced Settings, and then click OK. Windows in Safe Mode will change the screen resolution according to new settings, and prompt a "Monitor Settings" dialog box prompting that desktop has been reconfigured, with countdown timer. Click on Yes to keep the new settings.
6. Alternatively, simply click on Advanced, go to Adapter tab, then click on List All Mode. Select a mode with screen resolution size and color mode that you prefer, and click on OK. Windows will apply the new resolution size and color quality on Safe Mode too.

Inserted the disk for my Canon A470 into my computer. Got the message "screen resolution to execute Digital Camera Solution Disk is not sufficient." I realize it's not a camera problem but not...

You have to set the resolution on your computer's monitor to the minimum required to run the software. To do this, go to your desktop (no programs showing) and right click in an empty area on the desktop. Go down to "Properties" on the menu that appears and click on it. Look along the top of the window that opens for a tab named "Settings" and click on it. You should see an option (usually on the left) to change your screen resolution. Change your resolution to the minimum required for the program. Depending on your computer, you may be asked to confirm the new settings, or you may have to restart your computer (the computer will tell you). Once you have the new screen resolution set, things will appear to be smaller on the monitor, but you will be able to see more of whatever you are looking at.
