Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Dual cursors This is a short story, and hopefully one or more readers will see it as a challenge; It's been buzzing through my head for a couple of years now, and occasionally similar stories pop up on internet-fora, but to no avail so far: First step: My laptop has one cursor on the screen, like all other computers that I have seen. I can control it with the touch-pad, or with a USB-mouse, or a trackball, or a graphic tablet. I can click, double-click, and right-click. All with my right hand, 'cause I am right-handed. With my left hand I can do short-cuts on the keyboard, if I know them for the app I am in. My Macbook-trackpad even recognises two fingers, for scrolling and zooming. And if plug-in an external mouse, both inputters simultaniously control that one cursor on the screen. Sounds familiar, no? Cool, not! Ok, next step: My father was a pianist. Had ten fingers and two feet. Used all of them simultaniously to generate input. And he never got confused. And sounded great, at times. OR: I used to ride my bike, a BMW R75. Left foot gears up-and-down, right-foot rear brake, left hand clutch, and lights and turn-signals, right hand throttle and front brakes. And when I had the side-car on I even had to think about balancing it all as well. One and one is two, or may it be a little more? WHY-OH-WHY can't I have more than one cursed cursor on my screen? Each listening to a seperate mouse/touchpad/tablet/whatever I choose? My screen can surely handle it, and so can my Macbook. And surely my body can handle two mice, one in each hand, and foot-pedals for the right-click, and what-have you-not! And surely my brain can handle that, just as it handled the brake/clutch/throttle/lights/turn signals on my motorcycle-handlebars! And ten minutes later I could drive a gear-shifted car, with all the tools in a different place, just fine. Why-oh-why is the only machine that really thinks much faster than me, only accessible through ONE SERIAL INPUT MECHANISM? God gave me multiple digits, Steve Jobs gave me a fine machine, who now creates the final interface? A small piece of code, which lets the user choose how many mice, how many cursors, which cursor is which mouse, what their colors are, how they each behave in speed and so, and if there is a hierarchy, and how that hierarchy works. I hear it is possible in Linux, but cannot find any confirmation. But I want it on my macbook. So now what? Does this story get listed under 'just stories', or does someone out there see the realism in it, and pick up the challenge? And please, dont ask: What for? Steve J was asked that way backin '76 or so. Gentlemen developers, sharpen your toolkit, close your helmets, and off it is! I expect a working version in three days! And eternal fame for the programmer, and maybe money? Greetings from Froit from UlanBataar, Mongolia"

Light switch buzzing

As long as it was not an acidic solution, the casing of the switch should be fine. How this solution got inside is another story.I would
let it dry out a day or two, before using it.
If it is a electronic dimmer, you may have damaged a electronic component. Sounds like there may be arcing between contacts. If it still buzzes after a couple days of drying out, replace it promptly.

How do i put buzz lightyear tent together

If it is like mine (year, etc) you simply first lay out the ground cloth (if you have one) long-wise, then lay the tent body on top of the ground cloth. Next, stake out both ends of the tent (at head and feet of tent). Now put your poll sets together (the large one is for near the head of the tent, the short for the near foot of the tent). Go ahead and put the polls in the aligned grommets (matching the ground cloth grommets with the tent-body grommets). Once you have the two polls inserted, then clip your tent to them. Now, with your tent erect, Place your fly on top and drape over the tent accordingly; then fasten the fly to the tent using the belt-type nylon clips to do so. In this case the fly does not need to be "staked", rather "belt-clipped" together instead. That's it, your're done. Don't be alarmed if your tent floor seems as though it's lifting off the ground in some areas, this is normal. Just go ahead and put your bed role in the tent and prepare your area as normal.

Just pull off the jet pack. The first couple of times it is real stiff and you think you are going to break something but it comes right off. Pop out the wings so you can get your fingers under the jet pack and pull hard. It pops right off.

This, unfortuantely, is one of the usual challenges associated with dimming. The buzzing usually gets worse at around the 1/2 light level point. I don't think the issue has to do with whether the lamp is halogen, but rather how the lamp is physically constructed - and that differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. Long story short, I would take note of the lamps you purchased, and when replaced, I would opt for a different manufacturer.

Lost manual

I couldn't find my manual for the Dual Sew 3500, either, and long story short, I discovered the manufacturer of Dual Sew is the parent company of Janome; that the Janome 4618 Limited Edition is virtually the same machine; wrote to Janome and they emailed me the PDF manual for th 4618LE. What a relief.
