Question about InFocus LP70+ Multimedia Projector

InFocus LP70+ Turns off unexpectedly

Our InFocus LP70+ projector turns off unexpectedly after having it on for only a couple of minutes. It started doing this about 3 months ago and we stopped using it - had an alternative presentation method. We thought it had something to do with the bulb, so we ordered a new one and I changed it yesterday. However, after turning it on and using it, it proceeded to happen again.

Is this an overheating problem? If so, how do I resolve this so we can actually use the projector without it shutting off in the middle?

I have the same problem and It seems to happen after connecting the source cable. Once it recognizes the source it shuts off.

Having the same symptom on our LP70+. It escalated so it turned off sooner and sooner. Now the gren LED at the on/off button only flashes for an half second and it turns off.

there is an issue with the power supply edge connection with the main board. you'll need to have it sent to an infocus service center for repair. try av solutions in ny. they're pretty good. www.avsolutionsny.com

LP70 Infocus Projector light will not start up

if you don't hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel needs to be replaced. if you do, it's either the lamp or ballast. if the lamp is new, replace the ballast. you can get the parts if you want to do it yourself, or you'll have to send it in. either way, try av solutions in ny. they are an infocus service center and they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

InFocus LP70 projector is running hot

clean the dust out of it with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. it also shortens the life of the lamp.

Have you tried another lamp? Sometimes thats your problem, but I've seen a several occasions that the a defective power supply causes this symptom. Do you see an image flicker before the projector shutsdown? I do have some spare parts for this projector.

I'm on Ebay - gtitubro if you want to contact me through there.

Infocus projector lp70

in order for the lamp to strike and stay on, the fans and the colorwheel must be spinning and up to speed. if you remove the lamp and start it up, see if the 2 fans are spinning. and look inside to see if the colorwheel (a colored glass disk) is spinning. you'll also be able to hear a high-pitched squeal coming from it. unfortunately, you'll need to take it in to a repair center to have them replaced.

Pile of ##@!#@ infocus lp70 green light wont come on. should i smash it??

if the fans aren't running, it's the power supply. if the amber is on and the button's won't turn it on, there is an obstruction under the button panel. if all turns on but the lamp and you don't hear a high=pitched whir, it's the colorwheel. if you do, it's the ballast.
