Hi,
Most of the time when this occurs, the problem is resolved by resetting the television. You reset the unit by unplugging it for anywhere from 5 to 120 minutes, and then plug it back in. If the fails to come back on or the problem repeats itself you will need to contact a local repair service (you can use our database at FixYa.com.
But before you call a repairman. Make sure you try reconnecting or replacing the video cable that connects to your television.

No picture no sound loud humming sound for a short period when you turn it on than a orange light flashing at bottom where the blue light is when you turn it on.

AV cables reversed perhaps. Sounds like VIDEO (Yellow, Green, Blue or Red) cable is plugged into the AUDIO section. Perhaps you have switched the RED (Left audio) cable plugged into the RED (Component) Video cables. This would account for the loud buzz and since the set isn't getting an image it goes into standby mode. Just a thought.

I have audio but no picture

Make sure your audio is connected properly as well as your video. I have found many people often mistake the white for yellow and vice versa.

White and red are audio. Yellow is for video.

However if you have a the Component Video Cables, which are Red, Green, Blue, Black and White. Make sure these are hooked up correctly people often mistake blue and black and sometimes green for the colors. Make sure when hooking up the cables you have plenty of light to avoid confusion.

Samsung HD Plasma - hooked up DVD to it but movies play in black & white??

anytime you connect componet signal (green red and blue)to regular video inputs (yellow) end will have same effect. make sure that if you are using component signal from DVD player you have to connected to component input in the set.
component signal will use green red and blue for video and red and white for sound.
Composite signal will be yellow (video)
red and white(audio)

We are having trouble connecting our dvd player to our samsung tv.

couple of ways but the easiest way would be connecting the video and audio out from DVD need rca connections yellow red and white)
Yellow --- Video
white and red is audio out left and right.
find in your tv set inputs with similar colors its going to be input 1
or input 2 (as an example)
once you conect the cable matching colors yellow to yellow red to red and white to white make sure you select the same input on your set (video 1 or 2) that its throu input selection in remote control from tv or set itself.

What channell do you tune to for dvd output for durabrand model Dwt 1905

Hi,

I believe its not on a channel but on VIDEO. Chances are you have the DVD hooked up as Audio/Video using the RCA cables (yellow, red & white). The TV must be set to Video IN not TV Tuner/Channel. Additionally, your TV can only accept a mono audio input while your DVD's audio output is stereo. A quick and dirty way out is to use an adapter shown below to convert the stereo to mono. Additionally, to my knowledge your TV's Audio/Video inputs are on the front panel.
3851822.jpg
Alternately, if the front panel Audio/Video connector is already being used by another device, an RF modulator may be used and this time your TV has to be switched to a channel prescribed by the RF modulator. A fine example is one from RadioShack.

In some instances, there are DVD players that has a built-in RF Modulator and normally uses either Channel 3 or 4.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

No sound when connected to dvd player

If it's only connected with component video cable (Red, Blue, Green) cable set then no audio has been connected. You will still need to run a set of audio cables (usually White and Red). The other option is to use Composite cables (Yellow, White, Red). A composite cable set has the video on the yellow cable and the audio on the white and red. Component video breaks the video into the three channels.

I want you to know that I'm not paid for this, I just like trying to help. If I've misunderstood your question or this information does not solve your problem I'd be happy to try to help more. If you do find this information helpful I hope you'll give it a positive rating. Thanks and good luck.

Cabe hook up tore out

Most cable boxes have outputs for audio and video. Yellow is the video, red is the audio out for the right side and white is the audio for the left.
Take a set of RCA jacks and hook it up to the back of the set on input one.
Yellow to Yellow
Red to Red
White to White.
You need further instruction, respond to this post and I will reply.
