You need to download the video drivers from Compaq's support site. Then adjust the resolution.

My acer 4937G does not start. After the windows vista logo appears, the computer automatically off's itself, without any warning.what is my problem?

first of all you have to check if it is a hardware or software issue, go to bios screen and leave the computer in bios screen, if it restarts in bios screen it is a hardware issue and if it didn't then it is a operating system issue, then you can probably check with safemode with networking, last known good configeration etc, if nothing works, then you can reinstall the operating system, after reinstalling operating system if it still contineous then you have to check thsi computer is hardware specialist/vendor

Hi,

Here try this:

1. Load to Safe Mode. (Press F8 after you press the power button just continue tapping it. For Windows XP F5.)

2. Open Device Manager.
Start->Control Panel->Device Manager (For Windows 7 and Vista)
Start->My Computer(Right Click choose Properties)->Device Manager

3. Once your on the Device Manager look for Display Adapter (Double Left Click).

4. Under Display Adapter Right Click on the Video Card Driver then choose Uninstall.

5. Restart the machine.

6. See if the machine able load to the normal startup.

7. If the machine able to load to desktop try to Download and Reinstall the Video Card Driver.

8. If the first step did not work, I recommend to reinstall the Operating System.

Screen is black upon start up and I cant see anything. I can hear it starting up.

Press FN+F6. If the display is not back then follow the steps.
Please restart your laptop when its booting press F8 key . You will find few option asking for selection. Select that by using up/down arrow key. Select " Last know good configuration" & press Enter. Next page asking for selecting operating system, for example: windows vista or Windows XP etc. Just select the operating system & press Enter again. ( Hope your laptop showing only one operating system ). Your laptop will start normally. After the if you seen the screen dark then press FN+Right arrow in key board(>). When you press FN + ( < ) or ( >) key that's time its working for brightness controlling for screen. Now if all well then fine other wise please let me know .
Another suggestion is, run your Acer driver DVD for installing Display drivers. When finish restart your laptop and watch whats going. If no success then format the Operating system & reinstall again.

My laptop monitor is stuck in full screen mode after a game malfunctioned and the computer shut down. I did a system restore but it didn't change. Operating system - Vista.

Firstly, uninstall the game. then reboot the PC in safe mode. Right click on the desk top and select properties. Then select settings. From here give new settings to your monitor. If this does not wirk then Control Panel->System->HardWare->Deivce Manager. Select Display Adapters. Uninstall it and reinstall.

I have an old comp and my is working good.
Thanks for updating each time and to cleaning all systems each day.
Try clean your Disk with clean up disk utility
you should go on all programs, find- accessories, disk clean up,
after you done that,do the disk de-fragment and clear all programs what you not using at all( be carefully with that) to don't clean something useful.
after you done all that try reinstall the vista or reset on factory settings by going in bios screen (it appears when you switching on before log in-in and see what you have a disable.Click on that to enabled and boot up again.
Good luck!
