Hi,

If it was working before then check if your computer has a switch near the cd-rom or in the front side.

If never work then you may need to install the wifi driver. Go to this site and enter you model number then you can download

My DD is sitting here about to throw her new Toshiba Satellite T135 out the window because she can't connect to the internet. The F8 function key it says wireless on, but it says Explorer cannot display...

> says "limited access"

Ah, it _IS_ your wireless setup that is the problem,
because your computer has detected that the wireless adapter has _NOT_ been able to "connect" to any wireless access-point, such as your own wireless router.

If it is "new", take it back to where you bought it, and ask them to give you a demonstration on how to "view available wireless networks", and how to select a wireless network, and how to "connect" to the selected network. Take your wireless router, too, and its power-supply. So, they can setup the router so that it will work when you bring it back home.

Problems with the Atheros ATH AR5bxb63 on XP.

Hi,

May i ask what the problem is as you have not said!!

If it is with the driver, no wireless connection, etc then please could you do to my computer, right click properties, then click device manager. In device manager click networking devices and then right click on the Atheros wireless device to uninstall it.

After it has been uninstalled can you download this updated driver and then restart your laptop.

It should when rebooted come up with found new hardware (the wireless controller). This link will take you to the toshiba downloads http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads. The first download for wireless Atheros is the most recent (06/09).

I hope this helps,

Karlos
