I get "E224 turn off and back on" message when turning on machine. I checked error codes and it says "blank shutter problem". I'm trying to fix this machine for a local christian outreach program which does not have a lot of money to spend on repairs so any help would really be appreciated

Basicly, a E224 is a scanning lamp error code. Here's a question for you??? Will the scanning lamp turn "ON" at all? If so, then the problem is with the scanner power cable. If the lamp will not turn "ON" you may have a blown lamp & or thermal fuse on the scanner unit. You can not clear the code until the problem is fixed. Good Luck
Is it looking for toner or is there still a jam in it. You may want to try to turn it off and unplug the sorter and turn it back on. If that dose not work turn off again and unplug the adf and turn it on again. If that dose not work if you have unplug the bottom 2 trays. If one of those is causing the problem look deeper in to one of those units. Also, will it showw or flash a error code on the display?
