Do you recieve an error message when trying to burn the disk? What happens when you try and burn to the TDK disks? Does it act like it is trying to burn the disk or does it just do nothing? Its very rare but you may have a bad batch of disks since it burns fine on other brands. Try bringing the batch of TDK disks back to the store and swap them with another pack and see if they burn ok. It could be something as simple as that. There really cant be a problem with the burner since it will burn other brand disks no problem. Keep me posted. If you found this solution helpful please rate it when you get a chance.

I think your dvd disc which is 2.4x is not compatible with your current dvd writer. may be you can try higher like 8x and so on. go to the dvd writer manufacturer website . i think they will provide you some support regarding your dvd writer.

try to burn another same dvd blank disc. i mean that 2.4x disc tdk dvd. if problem persists then the main problem is that dvd is not compatible with your dvd writer. try another brand with that same 2.4x. if your dvd writer unable to burn that disc then the problem is your dvd writer is not compatible with that 2.4x disc

sir there is no such issue with TDK products with your writer.

and if this brand alone is giving you problem i would request you to stay away from that BRAND

I need to know if my DVD Drive can burn dual layer Discs. The Discs are DVD+R DL and my dvd drive is an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200A ATA. Thanks

Hi anternidrumm,

According to the site below, the drive can burn dual layers discs:

"The 20x DVD multi writer opens up new dimensions for flexible read and write functions. This high-performance DVD/CD-burner is able to read your DVDs at a speed of 16x and CDs at 48x. It also brings fascinating dynamics into play when writing your blank disks. Now it can even write DVD-R DL two layer media at 12x, while reaching a speed of up to 20x for DVD+R and DVD-R. DVD+R9 and DVD+RWs are processed at 8x and DVD-RWs at 6x. And DVD-RAM can be recorded with up to 12x DVD speed. So how fast can it burn my CDs, you might ask? Even here, with speeds of 48x (CD-R) and 32x (CD-RW), it’s at the top of its class."

Dvd burner on gateway gt5028 does not seem able to burn different types of media. so far only 'verbatim' brand works. is the problem the burner or media? thanks

Why not try sony, philips, hp, imation they are also a good brand. Verbatim to is not at par in performance with the above mention as for me. Even a low quality media should be written and read for almost one month, if this doesn't happen to your media. Then your burner is aging or say low quality.

When i try to burn some music onto my TDK cd the sonic record window appears everytime saying load a blank cd and ejects the TDK cd from the D drive. I have tried other TDK cd,s but the problem persists....

Sometimes there are firmware updates that update the compatibility of the burner with more brands and more formats. It could also be a bad batch of discs. Maybe try a different brand. Or do the CDs work in a different burner. Maybe the burner is bad or going bad. And just JFY, there are no CD+R only CD-R and RW

Hi : I have a HP Pavillion a1218n (P4) computer that is about three years old. I would like to burn data to 8.5 GB Dual Layer - Single sided DVD storage media disks. My CD/DVD burner : burns, flip, burn...

Greetings,
Your dvd drive is not capable of burning a dual layer disc. You need to have a burner that is capable of sending the laser through to the second layer of the disc. That said you can get a DL burner for around 30 dollars. Click HERE to see one from Newegg.com.
I am not sure what you mean by 'burns, flip, burn dvds.' but if you make another comment I will respond.
Take Care,

IS THE HP TX2000 LAPTOP CAPABLE OF WRITING ON DL DVD

It's a general-purpose computer, so it is. If you meant the internal burner in particular rather than that laptop using external dual-layer burners, hit eject and read the model number off the bottom of the DVD tray. Google the part number and 'dual-layer' together to find out whether it's supposed to burn dual-layer discs and also find out -with what speeds- people have achieved empirical success burning discs.

Feel joy as search engines and libraries become productivity-enhancers for you; there is little risk of sterility as from ingestion of hormones or allergic reaction as from blood doping. I think.
