UNABLE TO INSTALL FIREWIRE 410????

So

It was working fine till one day. Windows werent booting FIREWIRE 410.

I reinstalled drivers, and it worked fine.

Next day when i turned on my PC SAME problem - NO FIREWIRE 410!

I reinstalled drivers again and it worked..

NOW, it doesnt work at all!!

Power led on FIREWIRE just blinks, and thats it.

When i reinstall the drivers, after i shut down and connect FIREWIRE windows event dont see it any more, and instalation, of course, could not be complete!

FIREWIRE 410 is not damaged because it works fine on laptop, and i suppose that FIREWIRE port on PC is also not danaged because it gives power to FIREWIRE 410.

N.B. i tried allso connecting it with "small" firewire, external power, i checked bios, and FIREWIRE port is enabled, I cleaned up registry in windows, etc. with Ace utilities....

PLEASE give me solution...

OR

i must format c:??

My (M-AUDIO FW 410)drivers had suddenly got kicked off. (i honestly don't know what had happend to my drivers) So i went on line to get the latest drivers for my (MAC BOOK PRO/10.4.11).... It didn't work....

Unfortunately, you may have to upgrade. Depending how old your system is typically you need to upgrade every 3 to 4 years. You might upgrade your RAM. When you turn on your computer wait at least 5 minutes for all your drivers to load. If you open up an application before they load it may cause a conflict and not load all drivers. Make sure your not connected to the Internet. When your connected to the Internet all your programs that are not set up to not look for updates will. You wont even know that their doing this until it's to late. This is what I would do. Go to your system restore and restore to a point that you knew it was working. When you look at your restore options it will give you a list by day what was added. Just look at these day's and try and remember what you installed before this started happening. You're having a conflicting problem. Now we need to find out where. Feel free to contact me with any other questions. Hope this helps.

XP freezes on startup from Firewire external HD

This sounds silly but its true...the m-audio 410 doesn't work with windows, especially not with vista. It works on mac but barely. I've been screwing with one for 3-4 yrs now and have gone through a few that died and never had one with 0 problems, always too many to count. It works on macs but barely. it still has tons of problems on the latest and greatest. Bottom line - m-audio is crying because they're totally incompetent at making cards... or they don't give a rats a** about anyone not spending over $500.

Can't install m-audio firewire

It doesn't 64-bit windows. (no driver) this is part of why people who are serious about audio tend to use macs.

You can install 32-bit windows, then the included drivers will work.

M-audio firewire 410 problem

Hi isterix!
I also have a 410 on a acer 1502 laptop with xp. I installed the latest driver (5.10.00.5053) and i have sound (after changing sound preferences in panel control) but it makes me peaks in the playback. I think it's due to the driver, that is the same also for windows vista. I'll try to install the previous one and i'll tell you!

Firewire410

You should install service pack 2, the go to the m-audio site and upgrade the drivers again. Also, since your computer most likely have a 4 pin firewire, make sure you have the power cqble for the 410 connected. Ofcourse, do not have the 410 connected when upgrade either sp2 or the drivers. make sure you power cycle both devices before reconnecting and attempting to record....

Theres the reason I believe when you installed XP you have install the driver for that model:  XP fails to load the drivers possibly out of date and then it wont load it however you go here and find your one and install that you wont afterwards.
