Your question is in the title so I cant see your whole question. so I hope this helps.
Im going to guess your lens is not Auto Focusing?
Then First I would make sure the switch on th side is set af for auto focus. then I would check the connection. take the lens off and then reconnect it and make sure you feel or hear it click. if that doesnt work try changing the batteries even if the battery meter says they are good. Sometime the battery meter will get stuck.

I hope that was you question.
If not then contact me and I will answer your other question,

Almost all early Quantaray lenses (and Sigma lenses, Sigma made Quantaray) in the Canon EOS mount will show error messages on Canon digital cameras (but still work fine on older EOS film cameras). usually err99 but err01 also. There is no DIY fix and Sigma ran out of update parts years ago. Current production lenses and Canon made lenses will not have this problem. This lens would only work for someone shooting EOS film cameras with no intention of "upgrading" their system to digital Canon cameras in the future.

So you probably have a camera where you have to put in a 35 mm film. Like we all used to have some 10, 15 or more years ago. You telling me, the camera has a zoom lens fixed to the camera, I think it is one of the cheaper cameras from that era. I still have some camera's with film in them and I do use them of and on. I do have to tell you that most of these camera's are very cheap these days. Cheap like 5 to 50 pounds. Only the very good looking camera's that used to be top of the bill, for years, still cost some money. If you have a mint camera, some times it brings lots of money, but only one camera each year is found at the max. I think if you still can find a repair shop, it will cost much more than a second hand camera on ebay. If you can't get the camaer to work, with a new set of batteries, don't spend your money on it.

Do the older zoom lenses from the film cameras work with any of the newer digital cameras? I have 2 promaster lenses and didn't want to throw without checking.

In general, yes. The camera manufacturers did not change the lens mount when then went from film to digital, so as not to obsolete their own lenses. So if your lenses have a Nikon mount, for example, they will work on a Nikon digital camera.

I have a 35mm film Nikon camera with Quantaray NF AF Lenses. I'd like to find an affordable digital camera that I can still use these lenses, any suggestions ?

Those lenses will fit on every Nikon digital SLR. However, the autofocus will only work on cameras with an autofocus motor, the the AF will not work on the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000, and D5100. Note that this is just the focusing: if you're willing to focus manually then those lenses will work perfectly well on those cameras.

Due to the smaller image sensor of most digital cameras, the lenses will act as if they were about 1.5 times longer. Thus a 50mm lens on a digital camera will give about the same field of view as a 75mm lens would on a film camera. This applies to all Nikon dSLRs except for the D3 family and the D700, which behave in this respect like a 35mm film camera.

You have to decide what's affordable for you, balancing such factors as weight, ease-of-use, and of course cost.

The hard part will be getting a T-mount for the old Pentax screw mount. If you already have one, you should have no trouble. It won't even matter which one you buy, since you'll be removing the mount that comes with it and using the old Pentax screw instead.

If you don't have a T-mount, then you're going to have to hunt for one. You don't want to buy anything that's marked "for Pentax", since anything current will be the Pentax-K bayonet mount, not the old Pentax screw mount.

Ol filme camera lenes fit mycanon ef-s digital eos 1000D

Hello,

are your old film lenses FD or EF mounts ?
(Is the old film camera a Canon ?)

EF will fit EFS fine. My expeariance is with the EOS 3000 EF film camera (2002 -etc) and these work fine.

If you have Canon FD, there are some lens converters out there however I have not seen any yet which electrically connect and there is no AF. All Manual focus.

I have used Olympus OM mount adaptors with manual focus to mount older/different mount lenses with some success (As an example).

Best idea is to search ebay for your mount converters.

Will a lens from a Maxxum 5 work on any digital slr's? And if so, which ones? I am looking to buy a new camera and would like to use my same lense.

Hi,
The Maxxum lenses will work on Sony DSLRs.
The Sony models A100 to A700 will multiply the focal range by 1.5 because the sensor is smaller than a 35mm frame.
So a 50mm for example will be a 75mm f1.7.
On Sony A850 and A900 they will be the same as a 35mm film body.
I use Minolta lenses with my Sony bodies all the time and they are excellent.

What type of zoom lenses are suitable for nikkon D-60 digital camera

For Nikon Digital SLRs there is a special line of lenses. Almost any Nikon lens will work on the D60 body, but lenses not specifically designed for a Nikon Digital SLR will lack some features offered by the body. Nikon D series lenses, that are made for the Nikon Digital SLR series, are fully compatible. Although, any lens, AI type thru D type will work.

One of the snags with Digital SLRs is that lenses designed for film cameras have different focal point characteristics, and therefore altered focal length when used on a digital camera.

A film frame is 24mm x 36mm. The CCD in a digital SLR (Charge Coupled Device, changes light energy into electrical energy, which is then recorded as a digital image file inside the camera) is not that large. So the light is focusing on a smaller area surface. This changes the focal length of the lens.

There are other undesireable effects using film camera lenses with Digital SLRs. One of the desireable qualities of old lenses is the cost. The D60 is a great camera. You lose some features with older lenses, but you still get the same image quality.

I cannot tell you exactly what zoom lens to purchase, because it's like you asking what car you should buy. There are too many variables to consider. Most pros carry the famous Nikon D 80-200mm F 2.8 ED, which is a pro lens, with big weight, superb optics, and no finicky soft spots.

It's clean all the way through the range, at every aperature. But the cost is high, probably more than you paid for the D-60 body. But if it were me, I'd spend the money.

I have the same problem. So far I've contacted Sigma (I believe this is the company that manufacturers the Quantaray lens for Ritz) and they requested I send them a photo of the lens. I just googled sigma lens to find sigma support. I will update you all with any response I may get.
