-   I purchaced my laptop from an auction. it came with a password but I have lost the paper s that came with it so I cannot access my thinkpad. It keeps me locked out. I have some important info on it that I would like to keep but if I cannot get into it would I be as well to put it in the garbage?

there is not much you can do on your own to fix this you would have to bring the laptop in and they would have to open it up and locate the cmos battery and reset it, you can also try takeing the laptop battery out and leaving the laptop away from both its power sourses for 24 hours, hope this helps. tech trainer for big companys
