Question about LG VX9800 Cellular Phone

LG VX9800; Phone powers off when removed from ANY Charger

I've had this phone for some time now, almost a year....I love it, I've had no problems with it, until about 2 weeks ago.....I noticed that when I remove the phone from the charger, it shuts off within 5 seconds....i then have to manually turn the power back on.....I thought it was the charger, so I tried it on my travel charger and the car charger and the same thing happened....I figured the chances of all three of the chargers being bad was slim, so assumed it was the battery....I went to Batteries Plus, got a brand new battery, and the daggone thing is still doing it!!!!!.....HELP!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to post......I appreciate it.....I found the problem late last week....there is a metal encasement insert where the charger female end is on the bottom of the phone.....It was loose.......I pulled it out and then put it back in snug and the problem goes away until it gets loose.....I will try to pull it out and then crazy glue it back in and hopefully that will solve the problem

I noticed this same issue with a phone I acquired... I would look in the plug at the 'bottom' of the phone, the charging/data port.

Most of the time the pins move a bit in normal use, and if the second to the right (with the keypad facing up) pin on the phone's port has moved, or (in my case) touched other pins/grounded out, that was the issue.

I have seen this on a few phones now... It was the plug, or the charger 'worn' out on the plug, causing mis-contact with the pins!

My cell phone turns off every time I unplug it from a charger. How can I stop that?

Sounds like your phone may have a defective battery. Try removing the battery, claening the contacts and make sure it is fully seated. Then hook up the charger and make sure the phone shows the battery is charging. After it has been charged and you remove it from power and it dies again it is probably the battery.
