It is not possible to remove the software counterfeiting message unless you you reinstall the operating system... After reinstalling the windows, turn off automatic updates in your computer and turn OFF synchronization with windows time server. That will help...
But you have to completely erase and reinstall the operating system on your computer and before connecting it to the internet you have to do all the above settings.

This usually means that the key (serial) you have entered for your operating system is invalid (pirated, stolen, keygenned).
If you have a legitimate key you should be able to enter it to validate your copy of Windows XP Professional.
If you do not own a key you can buy one from Microsoft via their Genuine Windows program.

Load another windows which has product key. After installation, don't update with internet.

This may well be a bogus message.
If your computer has been working just fine, then I would first try to do a system restore back to when you didn't get the message.
I would then scan the machine with a program like malwarebytes which you can download free from www.malwarebytes.org.
If this is on a computer that is new to you, I'd visit Microsoft.com and look up counterfeiting or pirated software. There is help there.
Of course, if you installed a pirated operating system or program, you're getting the right message.

are you saying you have a counterfeited program on your machine,, if you do go to control panel select add/remove software the let windows remove it from your machine

By purchasing a genuine version of Microsoft Office. Yours is a pirate copy. If you want to dispute the matter and have proof of purchase contact microsoft in your country

It is the update kb905474 which came in as part of the latest updates.
It also installs the "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting" splash screen before/during start up of windows.
The removal of the hollow star is quite simple but there is no option of uninstalling the update(so far)

and you "can" delete(rename) this to get rid of the star:C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\wgat ray.exe
