When i first use the pcx2200 modem, it worked fine. but after i use a router, every time i download things, the data light turns off, i had to unplug the power of the modem to restart it.. and now i try not to use the router, still every time i download, the internet disconnect, if i don't download things, it works ok.. does any one know how to fix this problem?

Toshiba 1100 modem are no longer compatible with any service providers anymore. The reason for this is Toshiba quit making cable modems and no longer supports them. Since they no longer support their modems, they don't write firmware to make them DOCSIS 2.0 compatible and since most service providers use 2.0, your DOCSIS 1.1 modem will not function correctly. Actually what is really happening is the 1100 modems cannot correctly decipher the 2.0 and are constantly changing their transmission power levels. You definitely need another modem, and if you are using Cox, ask about their refurbished ones for about 20 bucks.

First of all.. is it working at all right now? Does it route and let you onto the net?
You need to find the factory reset switch. Usually they are a tiny hole which you need a paper clip for. They are usually on the back. Insert the paper clip and touch the reset switch. You only need a light touch and you should feel a click.
Obviously the power has to be on while your doing this....
The IP address might be on a sticker on the bottom of the modem. The factory default address is likely to be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or something like that. Let me know how you get on...

there are 3 probablities, most common 1 is ur pc might have bn affected by virus or files might hav got corrupted.

This happens if the modem's life is about to end. I would suggest u to complain the problem ur facing to ur ISP provider, this happens from their server end also

is your PC on DHCP or static?
perhaps try putting PC on static and see if this helps.
perhaps try reseting router to factory default and try again.
Looks like for some reason your PC is trying to pick new address every time you download which could be coincidence.
But try with static first and restore with factory default.
