what sysetm, mac,PC, DRV, TV?
what OS, windows, MAC, or Linux, what?

im googling like crazy what is this thing, ah, a flash drive?
pen/thumb/stick drive? flash memory stick?

first off , if you removed the device with out ejecting it
using the windoz task abar USB Icon, then you will scramble that memory. (its just a matter of time. easy to do, as rolling dice)
so if STICK
is dead on all USB ports, and 2 systems
then its dead. or more likely scrambled.
there is recovery software to get some data.
but i never trust just 1 stick as backup. not now , not ever.
a thumb drive (oxymoron, its no drive) is just flash memory
it can go bad.
it can get static damaged.
water logged.
or filthy and not connect. they are expendable. totally.
if backed up , reformat it. that is the only cure.
if it will not format try a new system. and all uSB ports.
if it still will not format , its DEAD.
next time EJECT it. (this is a software command not a physical action to the device)
you can change windows to not buffer cache this STICK.
and will be more reliable. (when not EJECTING )
Im not going to explain cache flushing here.... but you can look that up.

How to restore delected files from my usb flash drive

Hi, Even I faced the same problem. I have deleted some of the PDF file from my pen drive and luckily I could get all the files from it. I used Yodot File Recovery software and with the assistance of this software I was able to get all the PDF files. Download free trial version of the software if you want to know how to recover a PDF file. It recovers not only PDF file but also all the files present in the drive.

My drive is almost fill a 4g now when i plug it in it is not reading any of the stored files.

Hello there!

USB flash drives in general, are wonderful little tools that allow people to store a relatively a large amount of data in a compact and portable interface that is extremely easy to use at all. The downside of storing lots of critical data on a USB flash drive, however, is that they're fairly susceptible to damage and that you can lose all of your information immediately if something goes wrong. When troubleshooting a USB flash drive, there are several key things to check and to remember that will help you to determine whether your flash drive is destroyed or not.

1. Look and see whether or not your USB flash drive's indicator lights are activated when it is plugged in to your computer's USB port. The vast majority of USB flash drives have small LED lights located somewhere on them that flash intermittently when they're hooked up to a computer. If your light does not turn on, then it's either not plugged in properly or is damaged and likely not repairable.

2. Make sure to download and install the right driver software for your USB flash drive.
3. Try your USB flash drive on more than one computer before giving up on it altogether. If it works on another computer, then the problem is likely with your computer hardware or software, not with the USB flash drive.
4. If you cannot restore your files, you may use a third party software to recover them.

Sounds like it shorted out when you plugged it in the first time. I would return it and get a replacement. There is nothing you can do to fix it if this is the case.

Usually all flash drive are plug and play devices if your computer is not recognizing it you should try plugging it into another USB port and even try plug in another computer to see if it would work.If your flash drive does not work this mean it is dead and the flash drives are not design to get the information off when it is dead.

My pen dirve notditected

if ther was no detection or no icon appeared to your pc >>> the hardware of your flash drive is defective...if it's on warranty you can go the store where did you buy it to claim for warranty but if it's out of warranty>> you can open the flash drive and short the processor inside on it, in shorting the processor you must connect the both side of processor pin while inserted to your usb port>>> but in this case be careful!! >>>> because to thing may happen>>> either it take back to life or it will totally dead!

Icon won't appear on desktop.

It is possible that your USB flash drive is dead.
The other solution is to try it on some other USB port of your PC (if you used front panel USB ports now try it on the back panel).
If it also wont work, try to connect it to some other PC
If it works with an other PC, your USB ports are dead
You can try going to device manager, and to unintall USBs and reinstalling them

Driver for Cruzer Nicro USB 2.0 Flash Drive on Win 98SE

I've been down this road with windows 98 se
it severaly lacked USB support

USB 2.0 support is good in XP pro WITH service pack 2 only

you may not be able to get ANYTHING done in windows 98
with the USB ports

I don't have a solution for you in this matter
that irritates me to no end.

and what I just told you is not easy to find in any documentation
provided by microsoft on the subject and don't expect nvidia or sandisk themselves to be clear on this matter

it's time we held microsoft and these companies responsible
for this kind of situation and currently thats being done by the federal government , lets hope they punish these venders for this kind of pain and suffering and out right lies or lack of information.

I'm very sorry I have no solution to this problem but in computer
the rule is never give up and NEVER surrender any hardware.

Imation Swivel Flash Drive Cant detect

is it several times that youve used your flash driver at your office? and which side of the usb port did you plug it? coz when it is your first time to use your flash drive at your office and your plugging it at the front side of the PC. well there might be something wrong with connection and may cause damage to the board of the flash drive. if it your using it several times, well try to check at your PC, then do the following specs:

my computer (right click and select manage)
and under manage window ( select disk management )
try to see if your flash drive registered (you can see the drives of your PC) and see if theres a volume (either raw/ or theres a partition on it).

if not, well the board of your flash drive might be damaged, mostly these were caused by the power of the system, fluctuation is one of them, then improper plugging of the flashdrive.
